i went to port pirie last friday & i left town (adel) & the general price was $1.14 now along the way the petrol was around $1.20/$1.22 which i understand with travelling costs etc, except for port wakefield which was $1.07 :? :? :? :?

my point or ? is how or why is it cheaper at port wakefield than in the city ?? i dont think they can justify this

Bayman, price difference is coz its so competitive in Wakefield they just want to get people in the door and make money on food etc. They'd be making virtually nothing on the petrol, but have to be the same price as everyone else. Oversupply is the problem.

15 years ago there was no transport cost to the retailer when bringing in fuel so in theory the price should be the same anywhere. Supply and demand control this one - the less outlets nearby, the more the price can be jacked up. Used to piss me off until I got a fuel card from work.
