Release date unclear for trucking magnate's biography
The official biography of South Australian trucking magnate Allan Scott has been published, but it is unclear when the book will be released.
The book, A Truckie's Dream, tells the story of Mr Scott's efforts to create a multi-million dollar empire, starting with just one truck in Milang, south of Adelaide.
It is understood the book was due for release next month, but it was on sale briefly in Mount Gambier, in the south-east, this week before it was withdrawn from sale.
The publisher, Wakefield Press, says it is now been advised that Mr Scott has purchased all the 1,200 copies produced, despite bookshops already taking several pre-release orders.
In the book, former state governor Sir Eric Neal describes Mr Scott's goal of creating a national transport empire as the "stuff of legends".
Author Graeme Greenwood was unavailable for comment yesterday.

Im still waiting for the day the races are 'scott'free.
Im with Bayman when they changed it to Alan Scott Park from Morphetville I
lost respect for the racing industry.
He should never heve criticised Mark Williams coaching as well.
He should stick to transporting where he has a niche.

although a premiership coach, i actually agree with what scott said about choco except i'll put it in its context
mark williams is great motivator no doubt, but as a tactitian with football moves & match ups, although this has improved a bit is very very ordinary in my opinion & remember i saw him first hand at the bay (these are my opinions obviously)

He puts money into stuff and it gets named after him.
Maybe if I had a few million lying around and say gave a little bit to say the Eagles, I'm going to say name the building after me, but they won't because they don't have to.

I gather we can take it that Mr Scott is none too happy with some of the passages in the book. There's probably references to Telford in there, which wouldn't go down well.
As Mal said, he should stick to his one of his specialties, the trucking game, to go with his other specialties of collusion and price fixing.
