Great thread!
I hardly ever use the site, but the AFL site for its slowness, stupid windows that pop out and scream at you to buy their product, and the presentation of it, like a robot vomited information at the screen and didn't bother to clean it up. I use it about 6 times a year because of the above. (and because the AFL is boring when you are not in Australia, and don't have the constant hype reminding you of how "great" it is)

AFL was a shocker, but just got ADSL broadband and ti now works fine!, all the video footage of games and highlights is great once you have a quick connection

Try to steer clear of AFL official site now days, since telstra took over too bloody slow.
Glenelg's website too slow at getting updated info, also most info is incorrect anyway.

All the AFL websites are shocking unless you have broadband and are prepared to use Internet Explorer and clean off the spyware afterwards.

I usually ignore the bits that won't work with Opera, and if I really want to see it, I'll dig out Firefox. Even then I still get the "You need to update Flash Player." message despite the fact that I have the latest version.

I gather a company called cfour designed the sites, and their's doesn't work properly either. I sent them an email about complying with international standards last week and their listed email address was not recognised by their server. So, I rang them and got another email address to send it to - it was automatically acknowledged, but no actual reply so far.

[I'm on holday so I could afford the time to stir.]

Without doubt it's the AFL site

Why can't their 'Gameday Live' scoreboard and live action thingy be in sync with the online radio streaming. Seems it's at least 3 to 4 minutes behind all the radio streaming. If, as it seems, they control both couldn't they have them in sync ?

Regards
JAS

Just to take this thread completely off course, but JAS do you find that 5RPH is always 2 or 3 minutes behind in the UK compared to the broadcast in Oz. I go on the gameday thread on the Roost and have the NAFC on line board up and it is always the same. The board clocks up another rooster goal  and it is posted on the thread, and then 2 minutes later you hear it on the on-line broadcast.

Just wondered if it was just me or whether you experienced that too.

Not just you JTC me old china  I find the diference can vary slightly and makes for some interesting attempts at posting of scores on the Legs forum when people in Adelaide are a couple of minutes ahead. Incidentaly another of our regulars, USAbasedredleg, is sometimes even further behind. If nothing else it livens up the forum and adds to the fun

It is shocking. Poor website. Horrific to use. Well done to the developers of that site, I dont think they could have made it worse if they tried.

These are the people behind the AFL website and some other problem sites.

Let's all complain to them - I have.

ONLY their listed contact email does not work either so use the one I have listed below. Just be gentle with Minnie - I had to ring to get an email address that worked and she is quite nice and only the message girl at the front desk.
