Bloody yummy. Every now and then, I hear that story about Sth Aust. being about the only place in the world where a milk drink outsells coca cola, or is it that a milk drink is the no. 1 selling drink. I'm wondering if it's true or not. Anyone know where there are any actual facts/figures about sales etc. Regardles, I might have to go out and get one soon. Can I get an amen for F.U. iced coffee?

I reckon the Wikipedia article on FUIC makes the same claim. Am too lazy to look it up right now though.

I love the stuff but tend not to drink it too often these days. Will usually defer to the light version when I do drink it. As the years mount up, it becomes harder to keep the gut at a reasonable diameter...

Years ago I had a holiday in Europe. First port of call was London where I bunked down with an old Uni mate for a week. Knowing his fondness for the FUIC, I bought a 500 ml bottle and froze it, wrapped it in a gym towel, and took it with me as hand luggage. Over 24 hours later I lobbed in Earl's Court, and presented him with the FUIC. His immediate reaction?

"Where's the Balfours pasty?"

There just ain't pleasing some people

When I got to Heathrow I grabbed a lass in a uniform and told her I had a milk product, and asked if I needed to go through the customs queue.

Her reply was along the lines of "you only have to declare milk if it's still in the cow"

Homogenised, Pastuerised it's OK m'am !

I used to send the stuff up to Darwin on a regular basis for a ex workmate until they got a supply going.
Every three months he also used to request a Big Mac ! Thank god Macca's finally opened !!

As a matter of interest, where can you buy a pie floater these days? Is the pie cart at the train station still going? The one at the GPO? Been a while since I was in town late enough to indulge in one.

So I assume Cafe de Vili's does them. I reckon the new pie shop at Glenelg near the new magic mountain substitute might also do them - can anyone confirm? Where else?

I'm asking 'coz I have been dealing with a visiting Canadian postgrad student just lately, and I have told him he must try a pie floater before he leaves 8)

i'll let my avatar do the talking!

as far as i can tell, only one shop in townsville sells the stuff, but there are a fair few south aussies up here for defence force, etc... usually as soon as a crate hits the shelf its gone in a day or two... i know one guy who literally cleared the shelves recently, lol

SKYCITY have taken over the pie-cart but still have it operating out the front of the casino on Nth Tce on the weekends.

Dont think the one at the GPO is there anymore and hasnt been for sometime.

Cafe de Vilis Pie Floaters are ok, but IMO Vilis pies are a bit delicate for the experience. Balfours pies don't go so soggy and can stand up to a bit more punishment.
I think you're right about Glenelg Psuedo, the clowns from Sunrise were there having a pie floater eating contest the other day (in between stories about botox and their gay Hollywood reporter as opposed to Today which had their gay Hollywood reporter and THEN a story about botox).
I wonder if Wenzels (yum) down the Bay might do it too?
Is Cowleys bakery still around in any form?

The Pie shop at Glenelg do sell them, BUT too expensive and just not same as waiting for a taxi in front of The Cas devouring a piefloater!!!
From memory of first game this season at Unley Oval they had the old Piecart there Northern end next to toilets.

In Olinda, Victoria, a cafe called "Pie in the Sky" does Pie Floaters, and other pie based meals. Not bad either and pricing is reasonable.

LOL..That is how we settled the bill! A trade of the Iced Coffee's...

ZIPZAP, agree Villi's are a bit "flakey" much prefer Balfours, but as Cafe de Villi's is a 5 minute drive from
home, they will do...also can't beat knocking back a Kitchner bun for dessert !!

Call me.............FAT BASTARD !!! :D :D

We went there for lunch there the other day as Mrs ZZ had never been and it must have been 10 years since I last went.
Villi himself was sitting at the table next to us guzzling red wine and talking to people. Anyway, talking of fat Bastards, there was a chick (although they could have been man boobs so I'm not 100%) who ate 2 Vili Dogs (with knife and fork), a bowl of hot chips, a monstrous lamington and a bottle of Coke. I felt like being really judgemental, until I realised I was eating a ruddy pie floater and an ice coffee! Not exactly Mr Lite n Easy there meself
