"Slashed"??, but still cripplingly high for small businesses...

Nobody ever paid me as young doctor in the public service any penalty rates for weekends - flat salary whether you were rostered on 40 or 120 hours a week.
The Industrial Court eventually gave us time and a quarter for anything over 50 hours a week and set a maximum roster of 80 hours per week.
(That applied from 1969.)

I walked out into private practice in 1975, but by 1987 I concluded I could no longer afford the paperwork time to have my own staff and moved into a serviced suite. The increasing administration time was more of an issue than the money to me, but my future wife, running a small business at the time, had to do all the weekends herself to avoid running at a loss.

Psyber strutting into work as young doctor. Or how I like to imagine it. To be honest should add another 15-20 ladies around him to be more accurate. :)

I think we've all learnt a little from him, I'd love to have red with him and listen to some of his anecdotes.

I have met the gentleman and he is very friendly, He approached me to chat about my car as it is the same make and similar colour to his.
He then went on to mention a couple of his anecdotes, that he had mentioned on here.
He was most surprised when I called him Psyber of SA Footy fame.
