Yeah but is it actual good ol fashioned rock, or is it death metal?

Everything nowdays is thrashy, death metal or doof doof.

All sorts. I don't just listen to death metal. I listen to rock, prog, folk etc.

Some great rock bands around but it shits me they're not played on the radio.
Last 10 years has been better than the 90s IMHO. 90s was the worst decade since the 40s, so freaking boring.
And FC, my Mum said exactly the same thing in the 80s!

Sounds like you guys & gals should all get along to the Midcoast Meltdown on April 5th at Port Noarlunga Footy Club

Some quality bands & a fair bit of variety.

I beg to differ. Most 'rock' music these days is limp wristed, soft as butter, and more akin to indie music than what I would call rock music. The rock music I know had some balls to it, a meaty edge that distinguished it from the disposable pop fodder radio stations seem to endlessly flog. Hence why I haven't listened to the radio for a decade, apart from when I'm forced to at work.

Herzeleid-era Rammstein, perhaps? Although they're nowhere near death metal... but they used to 'doof out' a lot.

90s music is my bread and butter. I'd much rather listen to bad 90s music than good 2000s music. But hey, if we all agreed on everything, the world would be a shitty place.

Unfortunately, I don't think a 'rock' band has really impressed me in years. Maybe Eagles of Death Metal were the last ones.

I've don't mind some of it but I've never really been much into Rock, even the stuff that was around when I was a kid or teenager. The last Rock recording I bought was probably Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick", although I did around the same time have some interest in an obscure group called "Paladin".

I'm more interested in classical music, jazz, and Indian music - both Indian Indian and South American Indian.

I have 3 copies of "thick as a brick" on different formats.

Robert Johnson is ******* amazing. I've been getting into him and Howlin' Wolf a lot recently.
