Just because they dont' care about it, they shouldn't spoil the fun of those that do.

How are they supposed to know when its on if they're not paying attention to it?

Its like me cracking the shits when I was watching the World Series at work last year. I did crack the shits though.

You would have to live on Mars to not know this race is on today

Might give you a call on the first monday in Feb for a leisurely chat and see how well that goes down ;)

I am both annoyed with and proud of you at the same time.

You can call, but I book it off work every year, sucker. If you call my mobile, I take no responsibility for anything said after lunchtime.

Never been a big fan of it even when I used to follow horses religiously and know every horse in every state. It's a shit race and a shit meeting, I always loved the Cox Plate and Derby Day much more.
Watched my first one for well over 20 years today only because I was working in the front bar of a pub, it was a bit hard to miss. Mind you I was still happy to serve someone drinks during the race.
Was a fun day working though, ultra busy and went so quick, and great to finish at 3.30pm so I could get to the Hope Inn for free beer night :)
Was surprised I could still get up for work at 6am so easily not usually getting out of bed till noon these days!

My SIL is a nurse in the ED. Last night we had dinner at her place and got the run down.

I think she said there's 71 beds in Emergency, and Monday night they had 100+ people at one time.

The new hospital is a debacle... Anyone who had any part in designing it should hand back the money the got from the project... There is zero doubt we needed a new hospital. The old RAH was cooked and a whole new location was definitely required. But out of all the issues the new one has the one which baffles me the most is why it has the same amount of beds as the old RAH... Ridiculous.

The NRAH, EPAS and the Transforming Health initiative has been one of the most shambolic major projects this state has ever undertaken.

HYLC, the former state government and design teams have handed this state the biggest cup of shit ever. The hospital is a disgrace, I'm glad I walked away from an opportunity to be involved with it in the early days.

Closing down services in the satellite hospitals doesn't help either.

Certain cases that used to be taken to the QEH now have to go straight to the RAH.

We live 5 mins from the QEH, but Mrs HH3 ended up in the RAH last week because of service shutdowns.

Mentioned on the radio yesterday that Murray Bridge hospital sent down 26 patients even though they knew the NRAH was over capacity. There were 18 ambulances lined up at one stage. Eighteen! No major accidents just people needing assistance at the same time

I’m not defending the hospital as I too have heard some horrible stories

The biggest problem with the nRAH is that it was built for today, not for 15, 20, 30 years from now, for today and we, the taxpayers, have got just under 28 years of paying $1m per day to the consortium that built it.

Yep, $1m per day for another near 28 years.

Yep, $1m per day for another near 28 years.

And yet other countries have built bigger hospitals for less....
