Booked in 18 at the vines today to finish off GF week for the Sevens comp, started on the back 9 and hit my best off the stick score for the season, 41 for 21 points. Nothing flash, just didnt make many mistakes, 7 bogey's, 1 par and birdied the 15th. Then proceeded to hit 2 8's on 1 & 2 and butchered the front 9

Back there Friday for an ambrose day

Ball striking was surprisingly good. The game is trying to suck me in again. She’s a bitch like that.

Playing a casual 9 holes Monday. We’ll see how I get on.

Busy morning down at my local course. Arrived about 10.15 and hit a small bucket of balls on the range. Time for a few putts then onto the 1st tee. The pro slipped me in with a group of 3. Nice blokes.

Double to start.

Bogeys on each of the next 3. Including a par 3 155 uphill where I hit the green and 3 stabbed it.

The next 2 holes were bogeys including another 3 putt.

A double on a par 5, which included a Tom Hank!

Hit a decent shot on the second par 3 pin high, hit a poor chip to only 3 putt again. Getting pissed off by now.

Long par 4 to finish the front 9…. Drive ok, Hybrid in from 195 leaked to the right.

Chip and 2 putts (finally) for another bogey.

Ball striking ok. Chipping and putting awful.

Plenty of work to do.

Flaggy today for a lunch time start after work

Front 9 was fairly ordinary for 14points.
Back 9 was fairly good 22 points

Putting was terrible, I thought greens would be a bit quicker and just hit some really poor putts by pushing a few..

Yeah it's fairly good.
The back 9 for me is the easier 9 by length of the flemington straight at the moment.
Particularly with 3 Par 3s given the 16th is a temp par 3 at 100m.
17.5 now. In .1
Still feeling that 20 is probably my spot at the minute.

Luckily for the other B graders, LIV clashes with one of the rounds of Club Champs, possibly the final.

Regency
Ball striking was ok but somehow the putter was pretty good today. Only needed 26.
Course is in good condition given the amount of traffic it gets.
Fairways are nice and lush.
The rough Just shallows up the golf balls that fall in its direction. But again I didn't mind that.
Greens looked to have been cored a few weeks back. And nice and slow to help hackers like me who lack the ability to play on the fast greens.
Hit an 81 off the stick for 40points so it was a fairly good day.

How did the semi final end up?
Have they managed to do any work on the irrigation system on back 9?

Played up there about a month or so back. They had a few holes on the back 9 where they were fixing up irrigation connections etc but outside of that, yes its in good nick.

Goodluck Sunday!

First round of the year (Non-Ambrose) coming this Sunday at Oakbank. Sitting on 14.3 currently and hoping to play a bit more this winter with Master G moving to Saturday footy.

Flaggy for Stroke, on a fresh crisp windy start to the day.
scrambled around the first few holes.
got to the 5th, SW from 50m and put it in the bunker at front of the green. first bunker shot catches the lip and rolls back down and from there I threw the toys out of the cot... had another 4 shots or so in the sand....
more sand trouble on the 8th and then decided to play ping pong back and forth over the green
missed a couple of small gimme putts but by that stage the day was well and truly over.
106

back out at Flaggy this morning in grey, drizzly bollocks
didnt see that on the forecast....

group ahead tee off and one of them cleared the trees on the right and his ball bounced multiple times on a roof - thats the way to wake up the locals.

first drive, hooked it left into the trees, closer to the 8th green then the fairway.... and in my head - was this going to be a repeat of yesterday.
front 9 - 49
back 9 - was much better. a few poor putts, which is nothing unusual. came home in a 43 for a 92 overall.
