Twilight last night.

Played off 3, ended with 18 Points in a Liquorice allsorts round

9 holes- 2 Doubles, 2 Bogeys, 2 Birdies, 3 Pars!

1 of the birdies (Par 5 7th) I hit a nice drive up the middle and was 252 out, President and his group are up on the green, I said to my playing partner "I won't reach the green from here" then absolutely nailed a 3 wood, 1 bounce short of the green and rolled straight past his foot lol
Whilst he wasn't happy on course, in the club house he was impressed with the shot! He asked if I made the eagle, sadly I didn't however it was a "Johnny Platten" 44.

41 points last week, 4 over the card. Best Id played in 12 months.

Today 20 points, felt like i was playing with the back of the club and putting on scrapes.

This game sucks.

Putted pretty well.
Driver was ok but i just kept swinging half heartedly. No idea why.
Wedge game was good, helped with a few 1 putts....

Mt Osmond tomorrow, chance to win a trip to barnbougle... what could go wrong

What a debacle.
Running late to start.

First hole hit a safe drive out to the right. Had to punch a 6i up the 3rd along the tree line. Bogey. We're away.
Another wait on tee, happened every hole. Tee shot short of green. Duffed chip. Chip n run and read the wrong line. 5 and 0.
Poor drive on 3rd. On fringe of bunker, greenside for 3. No stance and just hacked it.
By this time, i had enough.
Completely lost interest
So bloody slow
5hrs 45mins

Teed off most holes but then just picked up.
Just tried to stay out of the way of the others who were actually playing golf.

2 points

Played front 9 tonight, played better than the 16 points I got and quite happy, mate of mine hit 24 points and 42 off the stick, hit best ever 9 hole score, great to witness

Future Golf end of year play off. depending on where you finish in the top 24 you get bonus points.... they take the best 6 scores i think. Leader would have had a 6 bonus points but he is in NZ, so there was 4 of us that 3 bonus points.....
the only good thing was that 2 others in the group were right up there playing good golf.
after about the 8th hole they asked if i was still playing and I just said im here for the walk and im just trying to stay out of the way.
i did my job, cos one of the lads ended up winning it
im just a free member with them and play some of their comps.
theyre playing Kooey on friday and have spots left, lunch after. think its $320

Stableford Saturday 35 Points.

Felt like I played horrible but, as I said my handicap is the highest it's been for a long time (played off 7) so probably reflective of that.

I did sink some really good putts (2 real long ones) but generally putted very well, that's where the numbers are.

Got a Pennant meeting at Regency tonight at 6pm so playing 9 holes before that, Twilight Wednesday and Saturday comp at home then playing Lady Bay Sunday, so getting back into it.

Back out there today.
Small equipment changes. Some lead tape to Driver and 3 wood.
Results were really really positive. Especially the 3 wood. Like a new club.

Wedge game wasnt great.
Putting, again only fair.

35pts.

Had a Pennant golf meeting at Regency Park Monday night so played 9 holes with the lad pre the meeting, basically not another golfer anywhere near us on the course, so we went head to head on a 2 ball best ball method. The little prick has been practising his short game and he got up by 1.

He finished -3 and was 1 back -2 both played well, he went bogey free I got a bogey on the par 5 6th, Prick of a pin location. I birdied the 1st, 3rd and 9th (obviously playing 2 ball best ball scores look a lot better)

Course still in good condition, although it looks like they've been cored? seems late to be cored potentially aerated? either way they were sandy and slow.

Thinking I might give golf a miss Saturday with 44 degrees the forecast at Mawson Lakes.
