Feck me the wind  Very blustery and made good golf difficult.

At one point it looked like Onsong was going to run out of golf balls in his bag......

But didn't.... :D

Had a hit at Flueriuea (how do you spell it?) yesterday with a mate, having not played there in about 5 years. Pleased to report the course was in good nick, and the rough perhaps not quite as penalising as it once was. We both lost 1 ball each, and one of them into a dam!

Front 9 holes was a bit slow behind a group of 5.... but we got "through" them on the back & skated around.

Good day out & worth a hit if you want a change from your normal track!

Cheers

Played Port Vincent over the weekend and really enjoyed it! Didnt set my expectations high and found it to be a great little course. Open fairways, great oceans views...

I should really thank Heater for the Kooyonga hit. It was windy and I lost four balls but heck it was a nice course. Really enjoyed it despite the conditions.

So you pass the halfway hut up to four times in a round. Convenience!

Kooyonga is a great course, about as challenging as a course gets IMO.

In those blustery conditions the front 9, especially 4,5,7,9 (into the N/W) would have been really tough.

The 4th (over the hill) beats me before I even tee up.

4th is currently going under renovations so it was out of play. had to use the spare 19th hole a tough little par 3

My Front nine was brilliant with 18 points then my back nine fell to bits

Playing comp at Thaxted on Saturday. Weather is looking like it will be great. Played 3 holes (3 balls per hole) in about 2 1/2 months so hopefully I'm not too rusty.

Hit off in the Mens stroke comp at Port Augusta at 9am. The plan will be to hit it straight and putt like a demon so I will see if that works!

Just seen the results from the Kooyonga Open Day. Had a brilliant first nine playing to my handicap and because I mucked up the 2nd nine I miss out on the prizes by a single point FFS!  :(

Ack! That long par 5 where the hole kept spitting your ball out has robbed you!

No I gassed it well before that. The 16th just nailed the coffin shut

that 3 putt on the par 3 after the 10th to make up for the 4th hurt. Also missed a simple putt on the 12th, left a chip shot short on 13.

Highlights of the back nine were the back to back pars at 14 & 15, have done this 3 times now there and for some reason when I tap in for par at the 15th I have some crowd noise going wild in my head

Apart from the pars on 14 & 15 I never really fired coming home

Conversely, I was reasonably happy with my back 9. Only lost the one ball in someone's back yard.

Then on Tuesday afternoon, I went out at Balaklava and hit a 91, 42 stableford points. It was my best round for some time. Possibly ever.
