Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

Club round at West Lakes this morning......the usual.......push most shots to the right, cock up the easiest hole on the course again (I don't get a shot on it either  ). Highlight a birdie on 7 and not ******* up the 18th, lowlight the 5 wipes from 18 holes

+ 1 so should collect at least a ball for my trouble

I would be a good player if I got the practice in

@heater31 buy a golf simulator so you can practice at home....

Another hit around the practice greens and most of the time things are working out.

Time will tell once I get out there under the pressure of comps.

Quick round in this arvo.
Just walked off the course with a 94.
Better than I had thought given it was first round for quite a while.

Drove the ball very nicely, but my second shots put me in trouble.... Grrrrr

Happy with that effort, will only get better.

They stuffed up the par 3 3rd by chopping back the tree...there is no difficulty on that hole at all now.

Worst hole was the par 5 13th for a 7.

Managed a few pars in there with a fair few 6s....

102
2 lots of 9
1 - 8 where I went from bunker to bunker over the 16th green where it's quite narrow...

1 more round to go before my handicap comes through.

I feel another century coming up 8)

That's not do bad MT, you may as well start with a few comfort shots on your handicap that you will shed pretty quick.

I had 31 pts this morning, has 6 or 7 pars, just a few too many "others"... Oh well, next week.

The worst thing was it was quiet through the front 9, then a group of oldies in Comp wouldn't let me play through.

Complete disregard for any golf etiquette.......

But yes, might as well start high and make the most of it.

Turn those pars into birdies Corona and then your winning

One par was a chip in... Had some make able birdie puts but couldn't get them to drop.

Driver has gone off the boil of late... Mid irons good.

Can never seem to get it all happening at once. No matter beers cold!

Burglar ;)

2 rounds for the weekend.

Saturday........another par round  could not have had a worse start wiping the first 4 holes and not even bothering to get the putter out of the bag on 2 of them  Gave myself a severe talking to on the walk to the 5th tee, then proceeded to go 2 over the card for the next 5 holes to be minus 1 on the turn. Back nine was probably the best 9 holes I have ever played, 4 bogeys, a birdie and the rest pars to finish 3 up (38 off the stick for the 9). Happy Days with about half a dozen balls coming my way for a top 3 grade placing.

Sunday.....mixed bag and didn't reach the heights of Saturday....lost a stroke from the handicap and therefore didn't get a shot on a par 5. no worries still dropped it for a bird ;) 32 points. Imagine if I was consistent

Just checked my handicap on golflink.... Oh dear, I have a few "good rounds" about to drop off my top 20 last rounds. I will indeed become a "2 stroke" player.... What an embarrassing turn of events....in fact it's #hack

So like me you are a human powered excavator at times??

I will start off near the highest handicap, and hopefully utilise that to a few comp wins to build the confidence.....

No, normally its the opposite. Yesterday I started thinning them. twice on the back nine I hit decent tee shots - to within say 75 - 90 meters of the pin. That means I am going either gap wedge or sand iron (56 degree). Gutted them bothe over the back, was able to recover one of them and make bogey. The other was in the bloody forrest.....

@Corona Man that means your backswing is too steep. Which then leads to a steep downswing then the club is on the follow through before making contact with the ball......

Stop skulling your irons
