The annoying thing from yesterday was a group of 3 behind us including a fat fook in a cart rang the pro shop up to complain about our group of 4 for slow play cos the president came out to us on a cart to tell us to move along and that we were a hole behind, which we weren't.
He didn't realise that when we got to our 3rd hole about 10mins prior there was 5 groups on the tee block.

We get to the 9th hole and one of the lads blasted one down the middle and rolled past one of the guys in the group ahead who wasnt happy.
We walk down and there are 3 groups playing the 1st.
Apologised to the group ahead and explained we got the hurry up.

They were speechless.....it was a ridiculous call.

So the dickhead in the cart tried to make a couple of vague points by driving his cart fast and reckless on a par 3 as we teed off on the next hole.
Then at the end of the round the old pres tells us the club plays ready golf.....well last week we took 5hrs for stableford and this week was a 4 1/4hr job on stroke play which I consider quite good, but last week he was nowhere to be seen.

Anyway the 3 **** behind us did SFA yesterday.

Synopsis of my round yesterday. In 25 odd years of playing the game, I can't recall a round where I have hit Driver so well, yet failed to cash in & post a score....

1st - Par 4 - Driver (well struck) draws into trees on left - hits - ends up in the middle. 3 wood from 205 - pin high right. Up & down par = 3pts
2nd - Par 3 - Miss green left with 8 iron - up & down 2 putt (with lip out) bogey = 2pts
3rd - Par 4 - Decent Drive leaves me 150 out - chunk 6 iron. Bump & run, chip, 2 putts (with lip out), double bogey = 1pt
4th - Par 3 - 6 iron through the green. Up & down par = 3pts
5th - Par 5 - Poor drive hooks left into the crap, tried miraculous recovery shot - failed - wipe hole = 0pts
6th - Par 5 - Crunch Driver - have 195 left from light rough. Thin Hybrid into the drink 50 metres short. Take a drop - make bogey = 2pts
7th - Par 4 - Crunch Driver - have 40 metres left - bump in wedge - 2 putt par = 3pts
8th - Par 4 - Drivable hole - Hit Driver leftish, ends up in the thick grass 20 meters from green, hack out, chip on - 2 putts (with lip out) for bogey = 2pts
9th - Par 4 - 3 wood hole for me, didn't catch it, just makes fairway - 200 out - smash 3 wood through the back of the green. Duff 2 chips, scramble a double bogey = 1pt
10th - Par 4 - Also drivable - Worst shot of the day in the crap right - hack out - up and down bogey = 2pts
11th - Par 4 - short hole - 4 iron to 100m out, in the middle of fairway. Duff Gap wedge short, then thin approach over the back, duff 2 more chips, say **** golf - wipe out = 0 pts
12th - Par 3 - playing 145, easy 7 iron that settles near the hole. Looking like NTP, but miss out by a foot. Roll birdie putt past - Par coming back = 3 pts
13th - Par 4 - Smash Driver to 95 metres - what happens next sums up the day. Take Gap Wedge, doesn't quite clear bunker at front (1 foot short) otherwise all over the flag. blast out of sand, over the back, 2 chunked chips, lip out putt..... **** this I am going to the 19th - wipe out = 0 pts
14th - Par 4 - 3 wood from the tee to 110 out (bang in the middle of fairway) wedge hits green..... and cannons off the back (FFS) chunk a chip (FFS) chip up & 2 putt - double bogey = 1 pt
15th - Par 3 - playing into the wind - Hit Hybrid, pulled left onto 18th tee. Tricky chip (over the tee sign) back down to the green - all down hill. Touch of a paedophile knock it to 8 ft. 2 putt bogey = 2pts
16th - Par 4 - Smash Driver to 105 metres. Wedge to middle of green, once again 2 putts (with lip out on birdie) Par = 3pts
17th - Par 4 - Smashed shit out of driver - 15 metres short of green. Actually chip it properly to 1 foot - tap in Birdie = 4pts
18th - Par 4 - Well struck drive, catches tree left. Dead. Hack out, flip 65 degree over large bunker, Down hill Par put rolls past by 6 foot, lip out (hey what's new) coming back for tap in double bogey = 1 pt.

Morale of the story - its all in the short game chaps!

Yep, I saw a Gary Player video the other day and he said golf is all about the shots 100yards in, that's where you score.

One of my mates has a similar issue, he starts to struggle the last 3 holes. A handicap 16
Another mate was on track to win the comp on Sunday and triple bogeyed 17. A handicap 15.

I went and utilised the practice areas today.

Not really sure if it was successful or not.....

Gave the clubs a bit of a clean!

Here's hoping something good comes out of it
