Adelaide Shores is open I think MT......

cue Moe ;) ;)

Thankyou for that H31.
Yes MT 79, The Royal Pat is open, as is the Westward Ho Clubhouse & Bar from 12 noon til 5pm sharp, for golfers only. No General Public off the street.
All customers must purchase food, as this covers liquor lisencing laws. I must stress that bookings will be essential.

Argh that is one of my pet hates too. People are so ignorant when it comes this.

Riverside very slow this arvo as well. Started off in a 2 with my old man and by the 5th we joined up with the 2 in front of us as somewhere up ahead there was a slow group.

Played my first round of golf in 8 months (since the knee reconstruction) down at the Pat (South course) today. Apart from being an even slower round than usual (a non English speaking group of Asian tourists playing in front of us refused to let us play though even though we had carts and they were walking  ) pretty happy with how I went in the end.

Shot a 99 off the stick (play off 27 - any round under 100 is good for me, even more so having not played for so long) but I did discover that my short game (except putting) sucks and needs a fair bit of work, while I'm still not shaping my driver the way I intend to, just too inconsistant from the blocks.

The knee did 'crunch and grind' a couple of times and is bloody sore now but is on ice. The course in not too bad a condition, some greens obviously being worked on still and have a fair bit of sand on them but all in all, with the 1st hole changes complete, it played pretty nicely I thought.

With footy season upon us, probably will only get out every month to 6 weeks but pretty happy overall with a 99 after no practice at all behind 8 months away from the course.

Here is a review of one of the vision balls.

I played the Pinkie Gel and I was pleasantly surprised with its all
around game. My driving was terrible yesterday so from the get go I
was under the pump.

This is where my game took a turn for the better. The control that I
had from the ball with my irons was amazing. I could feel the ball
releasing from the club face and I felt like I had it under some sort
of power :)

I am lucky to get 2 or 3 GIR’s in a round of 18. Yesterday I hit 4
GIR’s with 2, 2putt pars (still about 7ft from the pin once they
landed)

I love using my wedges at the best of times but yesterday the ball was
coming off so clean and crisp, I was getting some nice loft with the
shot and the balls was landing and stopping within 1-2ft of where it
landed on the green. I was also creating spin within 50-60 metres.

Putting was a lot better than usual but, still need to do a lot of
work to be turning 2 putt pars or bogeys in to those 1 putt birdies
and pars.

Highlight of the day was an PW down hill from about 120m from the pin.
The ball landed about 10ft past the pin and spun back and burned the
edge of the cup. I was left with a 1ft putt for birdie and put it in
the middle of the hole.

The only thing that ruined my day was putting the Pinkie OB on the 8th :(

I also tried the UV3 (bright yellow) last thursday and am in the process of writing that one up also.

NM28, spent a fair bit of time in the south-east and lucky to play all the gems down there and trust me Millicent is one of them. Can be a bit tricky for the first time player, lots of doglegs and blind approaches to greens, so first time around you might not appreciate it, but the more you play it, the more you realise how good it is. This obviously taking into account, size of club, number of greens staff, etc. etc.

When it is brought up for an event, would be one of my favourites, absolute gem. BUT, keep out of the bracken fern, I lost a couple of playing partners in there once. If you hit it in there, just re load, although the snakes probably hibernating by now.

Get him to take you out a couple of times and you'll get a real appreciation the second time around. Good luck.

MT79, haven't played it but a few work mates have had the experience. Would expect to be OK this time of the year. These blokes normally played with a full esky and no expectations of it being Kooyonga. Enjoy.
