Thinking of having a hit tomorrow at Regency tomorrow, just to get some practice in before our social season starts on Sunday up at Mt Barker.

Looking forward to the Dunes, we have a beach house about 1km from the 1st tee

Maitland golf club is open all year round and water their fairways

The Maitland Golf Club is an 18-hole course with a 69 Par Men’s, 72 Par Ladies and Australian Course Rating of 65. The course is a total 5,188 metres with watered fairways for all year round playing.

Located within the town’s parklands, the course surrounds the township of Maitland, which is located in the central Yorke Peninsula area and is an easy two-hour drive from Adelaide.

I'm pretty sure Ardrossan has watered fairways as well but they do have scrapes...

I've driven past it many a time over on YP for work ad it always looks fairly green...

Not sure if it is 9 or 18 holes but wouldn't mind playing it next time I'm over there...

Played Mt Barker Sunday morning and as always, the course was in pretty good nick. Some of the fairways were being fixed up as previously mentioned but apart from that (and super slick greens) it was a good day out.

Playing Blackwood on Sunday @ 6.53am !!

Thanks for the heads up on the special offer Dutchy, getting in before January ends...

I don't play alot of golf, but every now and then i go for a hit. For what i want, the Valley View golf course is good, it's nothing to flash but it's good for someone like me, who just wants a bit of fun. Anyone else played there?

Is there any other golf courses around the Northern Suburbs?

Yeah i used to play at Valley view atleast a couple times a week, haven't been for probably 12 months now though.

There is a 9 hole par 3 course at campbelltown that isnt bad, and a few around Salisbury also.

I played it one afternoon on New Years Eve about 3 years ago. I know its scrapes but for five bucks it was pretty good and like you say the fairways are pretty good considering. Fairly certain it was 18 holes.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Hey Golfers...

Used the voucher Dutchy provided the link for up at Blackwood Golf Club today...

Booked a tee time during the week (earliest I could get was 6.53am off the 10th) so my brother was at my place for 5.30am

Got up there and was very impressed with the course having not seen or played it previously...

Wow it is a tough golf course, lots and lots of dog legs, a few tight narrow fairways and certainly the fastest greens I have ever played on apart from maybe Sandy Creek.

Some spectacular playing holes on both the front and back 9's and all in all a very enjoyable round (even though I wasn't hitting them too good, especially my drive) with my younger brother beating me for the first time in well over 12 months (and only by 1 stroke !!) :?

Apart from the temporary 9th hole (down to the chipping green from next to the 10th tee block) and having the sprinklers suprise us whilst on the 11th tee block, it was a very enjoyable experience and easily in the top 3 toughest courses I've ever played.

Cheers,

Phil...

Has anyone played the Kingston (South East) course? Played it once about 10 years ago, and was amazed at how good the condition of the course was.

My favourite courses:

Victor
South Lakes at Goolwa
Kooyonga (based purely on the front 9 41 i had last time i played there)
Links Lady Bay

Least favourite course is definitely the course at Mt Compass (Fleurieu?) - last time i played there the rough was so thick that any ball even just off the fairway could not be found!

Played Regency last Wednesday when it was 44 degrees. **** it was hot. Best shot of the day was my second on the fourth. Six iron onto the green, only problem was half my six iron followed the ball. Think its about time for a new set.
