Ill try and find out if its getting any better.

Sounds like it's time to make the move to a private club and try your hand at the winter pennants. Could try and work out a deal for ya [emoji6]

Look to be completely honest mate i'm really keen to do so, my son is doing an apprenticeship at Grange, in my group at Mawson Lakes i have one of my better mates that is a member at Royal, another in my group plays at Grange and also 2 mates from work are at Glenelg and have all said to be me come join at these clubs.

The problem is, as it was with my whole footy career, i'm a loyal person. Clubs aren't bricks and mortar to me, clubs are built up of Pete cooking the BBQ, Pam running the kitchen and the people inside these clubs and it's for these people whilst Mawson Lakes to me is such a great club. friendly, down to earth humble people that dont judge on profession and/or appearance and will also stop and say hello.

I'm seriously contemplating a dual membership as a few of my mates have, but its a big cost that i can't justify.
Mawson Lakes $920 (with a bar tab included) v's $1000's joining fee and best part of $5000 a year. not to mention the waiting list.

If you're recruited for Pennant golf I'm sure the joining fee can be waived or delayed [emoji6]

Simpson Cup players yes.

Division 2 probably not all players would be scratch or better.

Barossa Valley GC

I was pleasantly surprised at the condition to be honest. Fairways were nice and lush and greens were good. They only water the areas that we should be utilising, which at times means there is a narrow target. But sometimes you have too go in and experience life in the trees.
Quite a few dog leg and blind shots.
34pts. One horrid pull hook and one that sliced

Bit better last night with 47/16pts, scratched the 3rd with a triple  but other than a double on the 8th (drive went left thru the trees, over the 13th green and stopped just before the 9th tee  ) the rest was pretty solid.

We have made the GF of the Sevens comp so will be having at least 1 more round before the end of the comp on Sunday night

That's a decent miss to get down on the 9th tee

yeah it was one of those block left drives that caught the middle, it was also wind assisted last night so hit the downslope in the rough - took me a while to find it though, would have been nice if i went straight

Flaggy this morning

course looking really good, Vardon last sunday, club champs coming up shortly

my game was fairly ordinary
put the old cobra Baffler back in the bag and it worked beautifully, some lovely draw shaped shots. then they disappeared.
scoring seemed to be just Par or pick up
27points

Popped down to the local course today. Hit a bucket of balls before heading to the chipping and putting green.

Ball striking was surprisingly good. The game is trying to suck me in again. She’s a bitch like that.

Playing a casual 9 holes Monday. We’ll see how I get on.

Flaggy

no major expectations today. wanted to use the baffler more to try and get it under control.....
hit the ball much better than yesterday.
15 on the front and 17 on the back.
1 ball in the creek on the 4th and picked up with a putt to salvage a point and the likelihood of those 2 putts going in were higher than winning lotto
