Shot my best score off the stick yesterday 76. In to 11 now on the back of the last month, 80,81,80 and the 76.

Unfortunately it was fourball and my partner stunk the joint up we finished with 77 points. For 3rd.

Hitting them really well lately yesterday 12 Pars and 6 bogeys. The let down was I didn’t hit a fairway with my driver not one! And I also bogeyed the 4 Par 3’s  my approach shots have been awesome, leaving only short putts which certainly helps.

I seriously need to get some lessons on my slice with driver in hand. It’s improved but still their it’s very frustrating.

Handicap is now the Lowest I’ve been and I’ve always wanted to be single figures but I know the gap between 10.8 (currently) and 9.4 (to be off 9) is huge but I’ll be trying.

Lovely legs 11, very nice!

Lessons or the Cobra offset driver, or no driver at all....

Yeah a bloke in my group is off 6 he suggested the off set Driver but my personal view on that is it’s a bit of a band aid so to speak, you’re not actually fixing the issue just masking it. It’s only my driver and occasionally my 3 wood but only if I try to ‘over hit’ I’ll get a couple of lessons and hopefully it won’t be a big fix.

Fingers crossed.

I've banned my driver.....3 wood can go up to 240m and can reach par 5s with hybird/4 iron in 2.

Agreed that clubs can mask deficiencies but if it can help you hit more fairways and bomb it out 280m+.....then why not??

Ditto, my highest club atm is my baffler 3w, albeit I'm not a huge hit. I can reach Par 5s in 2, but am happy to leave myself anywhere under 80m

Anyone played Loxton?

I've got a site inspection tomorrow morning at 7.30am therefore heading up this afternoon going to get a round in. The course looks great on line but I'm yet to see one not look good on line so time will tell.

Yeah played there a fair few times. Nice course. All the courses in the Riverland are good.

34pts.
Was a good day for the most part.
The baffler did it's job off the tee.

Greens were quick.....

Same mate 34 points, 83 off the stick. Only 25 putts I was very happy with that (makes my score look better than it really was).

Short game (inside 80m) let me down today, although the day after a corporate box wasn’t easy. Beautiful day for golf this morning pity my score didn’t reflect the day

Fairways were literally the best I've seen around for a very long time couldn't fault them at all if I tried. The greens on the other hand hmmm Rock Hard yet sandy (I have no idea how that make sense but that's exactly what they were) and horrible slow, really lets the course down.

Nice lay out, lovely tree lines but overall I think its a fairly easy course.

Highlights for me were;

Defiantly the fairways, as stated absolute awesome condition
Birdie on the first- Drive, pitch 1 putt
Tee shot on the second 7 iron inside a meter I walk to the green thinking I'm a gun (only to 2 putt)
Drive on the 8th, landed on the down slope and literally just keep going to within about 40m from the front edge
Birdie on 13

Lowlights-
The Fly's, f@#k me they were bad
Swooping magpies literally couldn't putt out on the 9th Jesus they get close
double boogy on 18

Club Champs at Thaxted
Started on 10th.
Front 9 was ok, without feeling like i had played anything well. 45. Could have been a couple shots better, but i was happy to take it.

Then the back 9. Again much the same. Albeit i started to actually hit the ball in places intended...
Putting was very good by my very poor standards. Was unlucky on a few putts not to drop, almost chipped in twice. Walked off with a 40.

So an 85 all up. left a few shots out there. But very happy with that and my first real hit with my new putter!

Strange game

Yesterday, round 2 of clubs champ.
A slow start out of the blocks with a 46 on the front 9. The Baffler, was baffling, still have it on the 18.5 draw setting, and that accentuated the slight pulls.
Hybrid came out and that did its job.
The back 9 was good. Only blemish was on 13th, and had to take an unplayable. Handy bunker shot on 18 helped set up a Par finish.
