This was highlighted by winning our Waterloo Hotel v Mawson Lakes Hotel social club golf day yesterday at Penfield. Ambrose event, groups of 4 (we had a team of 3) we were off 9 (2 off 20 and i was off 11), finished with 70 off the bat for a nett 61, we won by 1 shot. course in pretty good nick.

Hard to know what i wouldve had off the stick being an ambrose event, but it felt like an awesome round, sunk more beers than putts tho which made for a huge afternoon/night in to the state of origin in to getting yelled at when i evetually got home, good times.

I've since gone 28, 34, 33, and 37 points in my last 4 comps.

10.8

Friday
West Lakes
Invited along with clients from work for a hit.
Course itself is in good condition. I did find it strange they filled in a bunker on 11??? And yet there is a bunker that is right next to it.....but that was more a curious than anything.
Played ok, did like speed of greens. Bunkers are nice, can really swing hard and know the ball will just pop out nicely.
Ended with 25pts. But was more than happy with it.

Saturday
Links lady bay
On a beautiful day, we popped into Yankilla bakery for brekky....cos you cant just drive past it!
the breeze was quite prominent off the ocean. We searched deep to find our inner Seve.
Haven't been down there, for what is just far far too long.
So it was a "blind" round as such on certain holes. Not knowing how many bunkers protected the greens or how they sloped.
Hit the ball really solidly. Played fairly conservative or is it smart golf?? Just layed up on most holes, avoiding most bunkers and left a short chip or pitch. Effectively bogey golf. Bunkers are beautiful, nice n soft and like West Lakes just swing hard!!!!
Greens i found interesting. Some you expect to be quicker downhill just didnt roll out as thought.
Front 9 is considerably easier than the back 9. Back 9 is more open to the wind.
Absolutely loved it.
Ended with a 92. 45/47.

A bunker that no one goes in....

Stableford round for me, not much to talk about 34 points. No scrubs, no birdies tho. Didn’t putt all that well and thats where the scores are.

One day I will put it all together, well I f**king hope so anyway.

Willunga this morning

First time in a long long time that ive been down there.
Quite impressed with initial entrance and the practice green areas.
We kicked off from 10th.
Course was in good condition. Only a few areas that need a bit of tidying up, but they are working on that.
Putting was a mystery, well when is it not??[emoji2959][emoji2959][emoji2959]
Some putts that thought would be straight turned and others went dead straight.
The new F8 driver behaved itself nicely. I did pull a couple but I felt that as soon as I hit it. Good track for the price.

Highlight below on 14th....**** it looked good a nice draw and trickled up and around beautifully....Image

Mt Barker

Reasonable day out there. Chipped over the bunker and in for birdie on 12th, always a nice view when you are right behind it and watch it trickle down the hill and into the hole!
Driver for the most part was ok. Got caught up in the rough a few times and punched out, most times i hit it sweetly and it rolled through the greens...

88 off the stick in the end.
