Not good!

Yeah they have been struggling for a while so no surprise, may have got some more business with Flaggy driving Range being used for new development.

I suspect the land might be used for the new BMX track they have been talking about.

I think Chris and the family needed a break. Like all small businesses there's the 7 day week

Perhaps it could be a new location to sell goods from. More room than the back of the van

Up for sale if anyone's interested

Had a hit at thaxted, just to get out the house for a while. Not many turned out, weather was alright. Only got caught once in a 2 minute shower walking down 18th.

Ended with 30pts.
It's hurts when the worm burners get stopped in the mud :(
Missed a couple of simple putts, should have spent 5mins over them like Bryson....

Curlewis is very picturesque with the water but extermely windy.

Flaggy

Invited along by clients at work
Looking a tad better than Thaxted, by golly the ball runs a long way.
Apparently they had pump issues, but now thats fixed, dam full they are confident of quick turnaround....i doubt it will be quick
Anyway onto the golf.
It wasn't too bad overall. Only had one blunder with driver.
3 x 1pts to start off was slow going.
15pts front 9
Came home with 16 with a wipe. Hit ball OB on 16, which is a recent addition??? But just took the wipe and move on
Didnt mind the greens, more to my liking on the slower side. But they had some tricky breaks...
31pts in the end.

Certainly was blowy.

33 Points with 3 scrubs (all in a row  )

Highlight of the day was sinking 20-25ft Putt
Lowlight of the day was having a birdie putt on the par 5 only to finish with a bogie

Drove like shit but Iron play was pretty good.

I'll remian at 10.6

Heading upto Echunga for a bash tomorrow.
Been probably 10yrs since I've been there.
Only vague memories, like a tree in middle of fairway on one of the holes!

First roll up and a few former thaxted members
Course was a "heavy 9" in parts. Lot of slush around. Standing over the ball and can feel your feet sinking!!
So no water issues up there. Didnt expect it to be quite so wet. But outside of that and a small section where cockies have a feed it wasnt too bad. Hit our fair share of trees!!
Golf side was ordinary at best. Took a while, well i think 12 holes before driver did what it was meant to!!!

Stableford round on cored and top dressed greens! Yuck.
(Done now for club champs in about a month)

Started really well on the front 9 getting my approach shots fairly close to eliminate distance putts over slow top dressing went out with 20 points pretty happy. Go to get my putter out of my bag on 10 the head has snapped off! clean snapped. Being a comp round, I had to finish the round ‘putting’ with my 3 wood for disgusting results. Come in with 10 points, yep 10.

F**k Golf......

Last weekend, annual golf trip with 11 other blokes I went to school with.
Friday - Curlewis
Very disappointing, write ups were good, online drone tour of each hole looked good, in the flesh - not so good.
Fairways in very average condition, greens were like glass, layout underwhelming, had 28 points.
Saturday - 13th Beach, Creek course
Chalk & cheese compared to yesterday. Fairways like carpet, greens impeccable, challenging layout but perfect weather conditions & 38 points made for a great day.
Sunday - The Sands
Would you like some sand with your round? Played an Ambrose/alternate ball format. Reckon we found bunkers on 12-13 holes, they were everywhere!
Putted like a pig, course is a ripper.

Headed out to the Vines this morning.
Par.
Course is in good nick. Cleared out all the rubbish under the trees. Certainly made it easier to find any wayward balls.
Quite happy with how I hit the ball.
Ended up at +1.
Had about 6 or so chips from off the green that either hit flag or rolled over the edge of the hole....oh what couldve been!!!

Just booked in to have a go at the McCracken Cup for a bit of fun.

Well I’ve just returned him from the gentleman’s where we were world economics over a glass or 2 of the regions finest they had to offer whilst puffing on cuban cigars looking down at the peasents gather at the door way looking for crumbs, ability or any other thing they can scavage

So upon arrive home as discussed I’ll indulge on my what could’ve been great day on the hallow turf we call Mawson Lakes.

First 5 holes- Par-Par-Birdie-Bogey-par at this stage I currently have a rock hard boner that the great John Holmes would be proud of, single figures here I come! Next 4 pffft won’t bore you with them.

On the turn 22 points the world is my ostyer- some prick get me bacon pieces cheese and wosty sauce cause I’m on!

Bang! That’s me hitting earth.

10- 1 point, 11 1 point, 12-1 point

I spit the dummy and have a moment! My marker says your 25 points after 12 holes relax!

13 through 18! 4 pars a birdie and a bogey.

40 points

10.2  1 more good round I’m single figures! :supz:

FYI- Rose Tattoo weren’t bad, Jets weren’t loud enough and the tempo on all played was down, Bank St social is full of f**k wits, Electra house WTF! Woolshed line was to long. Corporate box today. :drinkers:
