Would love Adam Scott to win the open. Would go a little way to healing last years heartbreak.

Jason Day as mentioned is another one that will be around the mark for Australia.

If I was to pick an International it would come from Rickie Fowler or Angel Cabrera. Fowler hasn't finished lower than 31st in 3 starts at The Open with his best being a T14 first time around (that's with an opening 79). Also hasn't finished outside the top 25 in 4 starts with a T10 at The Masters.

Zach Johnson leads the way after the 1st day, posting a -5 66.

Best from the Aussies is Adam Scott, posting a 71 par, and Jason Day a +2 73.

Pre-tournament favourite Phil Mickelson is on -2, along with Tiger Woods. SD's international pick of Rickie Fowler having a hard day at the office, hitting +7 78.

Coming unstuck for Kuhchar on the 18th, hit it in the rough, then to get out of the rough had to go sideways into the bunker. Now on the green putting for bogey, not an easy put, especially when he will be kicking himself for being in that position.

Great to see Steven Bowditch win the Texas Open by a shot, which automatically puts him in the field for the US Masters starting in about 10 days time.

Senden putting in another good result though.

Scott can still finish #1 after this tourney if he finishes in the top 16 i think. And he is 28th or something at the moment.

Anything lower than a 68 could see him as the next number 1.

Unfortunately I'm not sure about that. He could hold it for a while but it won't be long until speith gets him I reckon. Man that kid is good

Yeah he is pretty good, but lacking the finishing composure at the moment. I find it a bit odd though considering how well he played to win the John Deere Classic last year. He has been in position to win twice (Masters and Players), but stalled in the final round. Could we be witnessing another modern day Tiger??

Only 20 years old. Reckon it will be one of those things where once he starts closing these out he will be unstoppable. And yeah he is the next tiger for sure (not that I watch a super amount of golf)

I recorded and watched every minute of the masters though and given it was his first time there it was just insane how well he played. Some of his recovery shots were amazing.

Just couldn't quite match bubba when bubba hit amazing shot, particularly when speith was hitting second.

Yes a lot of golf and heartbreak left in his career. I don't think there are many who can go with Bubba when he is in that sort of mood.

Adam Scott goes from just missing the cut line to winning @ Colonial on the 3rd playoff hole against Jason Dufner. Both guys were all class during the playoff with Dufner sticking an approach from 146yards within 4ft and Scotty dropping a putt from the fringe from 14ft for birdie on the 1st of those 3 holes.

Adam Scott is all class!
