I can't back Willett even if I don't want Spieth to win.

Spieth drowns a second ball at 12.... Then into the back bunker for 5... Willet or Johnson. Spieth needs to respond

Speith needs 2 birdies now on 17,18 for a playoff.

That was his chance for playoff gone right there I reckon

Wow, how good was that finish. Give me live sporting drama over bloody game of thrones every time. In some ways, the final round of the Masters golf IS the original reality TV.... Can't script that stuff.

Englishman Danny Willetts recorded a 5 under 67 in the final round to win himself a green jacket, and a place in sporting history. Willetts was the final player to register for Augusta, due to the impending arrival of a child. Just think, if his mrs had gone full term, he would not have teed it up. Willetts played some decent golf, when others faded on the final 9 holes, Willetts played them in 3 under par. I hope the 2016 masters is remembered for Willetts good play, however the Spieth meltdown at 12, while not quite "Shark like"... was remarkable.

Spieth held a 5 shot lead going into the back 9, a bogey at 11 was costly. The quadruple bogey at the short par 3 12th hole was disastrous. I can hear the late great Kenny Venturi in commentary now..... "You can't win it at 12, but you sure as heck can loose it".... and so it was. While Spieth won't add a green jacket to his wardrobe this year, at 22, you reckon he has plenty of time for a few more.

From an Australian viewpoint.... er well, Matthew Hayman won the Paris-Roubaix bike race over night - the Augusta of cycling. In the golf however Jason Day never really got it going on the weekend. Still to play "ordinary" and finish in a tie for 10th.... ain't that bad.

It will be interesting to see where Willetts career goes from here.

Didn't catch who won the low Amateur, I assume DeChambeau took that honor.

Looking forward to the US open in June.

I got up about 6 and watched it all in about 3 hours, fast forwarding through some stuff, and wowee was that a great back nine. Just when I thought it was going to be boring and Speith was going to run away with it...

Dustin Johnson is probably the one who should have won this weekend. Tee to green just bossed everything, but just couldn't make the 10ft birdie putts

Good call BMac, he smashes it off the tee, but the putts elude him. Reckon he has taken the honour from Mickelson now... best player without a major.... or is that Rickie Fowler?

Sergio Garcia?

Johnson certainly had his chances but didn't, as noted, even look like dropping a putt.

Sergio has been around a long time.... He was the one, when he first burst onto the scene, that looked like he was the challenger to Tiger. Never really happened though did it.

When Sergio went through that whole - re-gripping of the club, before hitting the ball... and the galleries where counting it out loud.... kind of funny though. But he was done right there.

It was pretty much that shot that lost him the Masters.

Sure, the next three on that hols didn't help but walk off there with a bogey and still 2 in front, things might have been different.

He admitted he should've dropped further back near 13th tee where they knew the distances.

Interesting to see his chicken wing on his short game.
