It's getting closer now.... I can almost smell the cut grass from here!

I am lucky enough to have foxtel at home, and this year (starting yesterday) they have a dedicated 24 hour Masters channel. Good thing I have to go to work or I would be on the lounge watching old replays all this week. I just love the Masters!

Got home last night flicked it on, just in time to see The Shark get knocked over by Larry Mize with his chip in on the second playoff hole, of whatever year that was.... Trivia question. The playoff had 3 players, one was eliminated at the first play off hole..... any takers for a guess at who that was?

Anywho - foxtel followed that up with the full replay of the 1996 Shark meltdown Vs Faldo. Norman had a 6 shot lead at the start of the day... that evapourated quickly. I recall watching it "live" 20 years ago. It was painfull re-living it again last night!

Onto 2016 - Jason Day goes in as the #1 golfer in the world following wins at the world matchplay and at Bay Hill. Jordan Speith will be right there as defending champion. Throw in Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Justin Rose, plus any number of yanks and it promises to again be sporting drama at its best.

Tiger Woods will be missing with injury.

Bring it on!

At 4.30am, I be watching from the bedroom, so it will be on 7 mate..... Foxtel in the lounge room only.

May get the "tap on the shoulder" as well..... although that is highly unlikely!

About as much chance of a naughty, as Carlton are of taking this years flag.... but we live in hope -

the masters is probably the one golf tournament that I will 100% make time to watch every year. Will likely record it and fast forward through all the players i dont want to watch

Watched the final round from 96 last night. The shark meltdown.

Hard to go past Jason Day but do like Kevin Na as a roughie.

Maybe it weather related but the greens at Augusta seem to be a bit slower in recent years compared to the past. There use to be certain spots on most greens that you were DEAD if you put it there (Particularly on Sunday and on greens like 9 and 14) but the runoff doesn't seem to be as bad.

Day, Scott or Rose to win it.

Lets hope he can manage the problem. It flared up at the match play a fortnight ago. He didn't play in Houston last week so with some luck, he is good to go.

Rory looked like he was ready to peak at the match play tournament last week. I've had a reasonable go at him to win it.

And he knocked in a hole in one in a practice match yesterday
