Basketball Australia have announced the Trans-Tasman Throwdown series the Boomers and Opals will be playing a double-header against the New Zealand national teams, the Tall Blacks and Tall Ferns, on Wednesday May 7 at Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Two more games each will take place on the Sunshine Coast and in Hamilton, NZ.

It's finally happening an NBA team will be coming to Australia to play multiple exhibition games in Melbourne against an NBL team in October 2025.

Also veteran NZ Breakers big Dane Pineau has announced his retirement after 8 seasons with the Sydney Kings, SE Melbourne Phoenix and the Breakers and played his college ball at St. Mary's where he left as the school's all-time leader in field goal percentage.

The NBL had it's end of season awards night tonight which saw Bryce Cotton win his 5th MVP award second all-time to Andrew Gaze's 7 x MVP's.

The Wildcats have been booted from their home stadium tonight due to an upcoming Kylie Minogue concert. They will instead host SEM at the 4,500 capacity Perth High Performance Centre. A lot of Perth fans missing out on going tonight.

In a bit of a surprise 36ers veteran PG Jason Cadee has announced he will retire at the end of the season. He had a 15 year career with Gold Coast Blaze, the 36ers, Sydney Kings, Brisbane Bullets where he won the NBL's Best Sixth Man award in 2020 and then a second stint with the 36ers these past two seasons.

Xavier Cooks in hot water.

A mandatory provisional suspension (effective immediately) has been imposed on Sydney Kings player Xavier Cooks following notification to him by Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) of an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) and a potential violation of the Australian National Anti-Doping Policy (ANADP).

The matter is now progressing in accordance with the ANADP. No further comment will be made by the athlete, NBL, Sydney or BA and we request the privacy of all parties involved be respected.

Geez, Perth can score quickly when get on a roll :shock:

They were three points down two minutes left in 3rd quarter and halfway thru last quarter are 23 points up, great to watch.

Pinder had a blinder and Cotton shows why he is MVP.
