Good to see some hunger out of Gibbo too. Been a very disappointing season from him especially being on superstar money.

Not looking likely at all that we'll get the results we need to make the playoffs. Randle injury just sabotaged everything. Main focus now is to do whatever is necessary to get him to stay in Adelaide.

The ladder heading into the final round of the regular season:

Melbourne 18-8
Perth 17-9
Illawarra 16-11
NZ Breakers 14-12

Adelaide 14-12
Cairns 12-15
Townsville 9-17
Sydney 5-21

Games to come:

Wed - Perth @ Sydney

Thurs - Cairns @ Townsville

Fri - Melbourne @ New Zealand
Fri - Adelaide @ Illawarra

Sat - Sydney @ Townsville

Sun - New Zealand @ Melbourne
Sun - Adelaide @ Perth

For the 36ers to make the playoffs they need to either a) win both of their games, which would see them finish 3rd owning a 'mini-table' split over the Hawks & Breakers if all tied on 16-12 or b) win one of our two games but needing NZ to lose both of their games. Obviously if we lose both games we can't get in because NZ have the season split on us if we finish with identical records.

So simply if we win both we're in (and finish 3rd) but need NZ to lose both if we only win one game. You never know the Wildcats might be inclined to rest a few guys on Sunday night and the talk is Randle might try and make an early comeback against the Hawks too.

If you're Melbourne who would you rather play in the SF the defending champs who have won 4 of the last 5 championships or the 36ers?
