I've seen it before with Kobe in '96 said he only wanted to play for the Lakers but Charlotte drafted him anyway and then he said he would refuse to play a game for them so they traded him to the Lakers and Steve Francis did the same in '99 when drafted by Vancouver and strong armed his way to Houston.

Call their bluff they're not going to sit out holding out for some sort of mediation until they're traded to a team they want to play for.

Yep good call. The teams select the players at the draft, not the other way around. Things have changed a lot since those drafts as well. No way the NBA would allow a player to do something like that these days without a big penalty.

There's no way Brett Brown will pass on Ben Simmons. He will go #1.

LeBron and Kyrie need to keep attacking the rim like this. Incredible offensive performances from those two this series.

Varejao and Ezeli have killed the dubs in their minutes. Need to go small.

Nothing more disheartening than LeBron settline for jump shots. I get the ego thing of wanting to dominate all over the floor but when you have the skills he has, should be all dunks, layups, 3s and assists for the same things.

Hows the block from LBJ. Love the theatre sports can bring - 6 month (or however long) season comes down to the last 90secs of the final game.

Draymond Green nearly won it for the warriors on his own with a pretty epic box score. Overshadowed LeBron's and he himself managed a triple double and no doubt will be getting the MVP. Think he'll wind up being the series leader in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. Would love to know the last time that happened. In the end, the Cavs won it from the line and on the boards. Their woeful 3 point shooting early wasn't punished as both Curry and Thompson seemed, again, below their best and again failed to create enough for their teammates. No need to panic for the warriors, Bogut was a big loss for their structure and no doubt plenty of things will get improved on in the offseason.

But brilliant for Cleveland itself. Would almost make you cry growing up realising you're living in the city represented by the Cavs, Indians and Browns in the major sports. They should enjoy this one because after LeBron, who knows how long they might wait.

Draymond suspension completely changed the series. Dirty prick deserved it.

But LeBron rode home the momentum shift of that suspension.

Bogut going down with a knee and missing 2 and a half games had more impact IMHO.
I apologise.

First 6 games were pretty awful to watch as contests but game 7 was an incredible climax. Shame Delly didn't get on the floor at all but happy for him getting a championship ring. At least it prevented him possibly getting injured!

Good for Cleveland. Their city cops a lot in the US in a similar way to what Adelaide does from other Australians. I went there in 2013 and it's a bitterly cold city but nice people and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum was pretty cool. They'll surely enjoy this.

I have to take my hat off to LeBron when he came back from Miami I thought he would never win a championship without Wade & Bosh but Irving really stepped up he looks a much better player now. That block LeBron did on Iguodala late was something special.

Well done to Delly & Aussie Kyrie on getting rings, imagine how good the Boomers would look with Irving in Rio!

Went through finals stats, this is the first time a player has led the finals in all 5 major statistics. Before blocks and steals were recorded, nobody even managed the points, rebounds and assists treble. That's a first in over 60 series and I didn't even recall seeing a player doing it just for his own team.

Two Australians go in the Top 10 with 7'1" Sudanese-Australian Thon Maker drafted by 10th by Milwaukee

They seem to have less idea about Maker than they did about Exum. Some projected him going #1 in 2017 but after he nominated for this year at first he seemed locked into a second round pick. Each mock draft that came up he moved higher and higher but nothing close to a top 10 pick. Fingers crossed, because if he, Simmons and Exum come good that's a superb core for the national team for a decade.

Not sure what I think about Derrick Rose coming to the Knicks, was a genuine star when fit but worried that we are going to be stuck with a cripple.
