Guessing we won't see Randle again Gozu?

Not for the Sixers this guy Shorter is Randle's replacement.

I was a bit underwhelmed with the signing initially but doing some digging he's a seven year pro who started off in minor leagues in South America that has steadily worked his way up the food chain to play in Turkey's top league last season one of the better leagues in the world, finishing second in the league in scoring. His team there did finish bottom though and then played in France's top league where he struggled and then finished the season back in China's second-tier NBL league putting up numbers with a team he had previously played for there.

He seems to be more of a natural shooting guard and will be playing for point guard for us but that was a bit like the Randle situation anyway one big difference though is the size he's 6'4" to Randle's 5'9".

It's absolutely fantastic news for the NBL, the opportunity to play against them in NBA pre-season games is usually only afforded to the biggest and most powerful clubs in Europe so to get not one but three NBL teams games is excellent. As these games will be taking place during the NBL season the league is going to re-schedule a few games to give these teams the appropriate amount of travel/rest time.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Basketball League (NBL) today announced that the Sydney Kings, Melbourne United and the Brisbane Bullets will take part in the 2017 NBA preseason in October, marking the first time that NBL teams will travel to the U.S. to play against NBA teams.

The Sydney Kings will visit the Utah Jazz, featuring Australians Joe Ingles and Dante Exum, on Oct. 2 at Vivint Smart Home Arena, followed by Melbourne United meeting the Oklahoma City Thunder on Oct. 8 at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The Brisbane Bullets will visit the Phoenix Suns at Talking Stick Resort Arena on Oct. 13.

Whilst disappointing for the fans to see Randle not brought back I think we've probably got a better balanced team than last season. Moore & Roberts are almost certainly upgrades on Ferguson & Jacobsen the question will be how much of a downgrade if any Shorter will be on Randle? Shorter was second in scoring in Turkey last season a league probably rated higher than the NBL but that seemed to be playing as a SG, after that he had a stint in France playing PG and struggled. I'd imagine he's going to be our starting PG with Sobey at SG.

C - Hodgson/Roberts
PF - Johnson/Deng
SF - Creek/Drmic
SG - Sobey/Moore
PG - Shorter/Teys/Doyle

When you factor in the likely growth of players like Sobey, Creek, Drmic, Hodgson & Deng and the possibility import trio Shorter/Moore/Roberts is a combined upgrade on Randle/Ferguson/Jacobsen I'm quietly confident to be honest. This group should be a legit contender.
