MITCH Creek just made his feelings about the Adelaide 36ers crystal clear, as the team continues to inflict wounds on itself.
The latest chapter of the saga began with a quote new 36ers president, Ken Cole, gave to Aussie Hoopla, a blog.

“Although we believe Mitch Creek is an NBA player and we hope is finds an opportunity to play in the NBA this season we have contacted Mitch this week and made it clear we would welcome him back to the 36ers with open arms,” Cole said.

Earlier in the month, the 36ers filed an injunction to stop Basketball Australia from approving any potential deal between Creek and the Brooklyn Nets unless the Adelaide-based team received compensation. The legal battle between Creek’s camp and the 36ers was eventually sorted.

When proposing the question, whether Creek would ever return to play for the 36ers, Creek responded:

“There is no water under the bridge for me, as for when you burn something, it cannot be repaired to how it once was,” Creek said in a Facebook post on Friday morning.

“Myself nor my agents have had no communications regarding a return, either verbally or in writing.

“To the fans, I’m sorry but I will not be returning to Adelaide to play.”

To sum up, the 36ers claim to have reached out to Creek and/or his camp regarding a potential return. Creek said he hasn’t had this sort of communication with the team.

Creek is about to enter training camp with the Nets, after signing an Exhibit 10 deal with the team. The Nets appear to have filled both of their two-way spots, so the expectation is that he’ll compete in camp, before being waived; the nature of the Exhibit 10 meaning his G-League rights would be owned by the Long Island Nets.

If the likely scenario is what manifests, and Creek spends at least 60 days with the G-League affiliate, then he’ll receive a $50,000 bonus. If he chooses to sign overseas, then he would forgo that bonus. The Brooklyn Nets were among the teams Creek worked out for in June, but he chose to spend the Summer League with the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 6.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, in 17.9 minutes a contest.

Creek led the 36ers to the NBL Championship series, where they ultimately fell to Melbourne United, with the 26-year-old averaging 14.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and, 1.2 steals per game, over 31 games.
