A much better performance from the Sydney Kings today in a game that was a lot closer than the final scoreline suggests only down by 7 with 4:00 to go the Kings clearly ran out of puff there at the end with the LA Clippers winning 110-91. Top scorers for the Clippers were Tobias Harris with 20 and Danilo Gallinari with 19 and for the Kings Jerome Randle had a game high 25 points, Kevin Lisch scored 16 and Daniel Kickert added 13.

Great game to watch and well done to the Kings doing the NBL proud after that shocking Perth effort yesterday.

Congrats to Daniel Johnson chosen by his 36ers teammates today in Utah to be the new captain of the club this season ahead of the Sixers big game against the Jazz live on 9Go at 9:30am Saturday.

I know Teys barely gets on the court and Creek is gone but i find Johnson a strange choice. Not sure he would inspire me as a leader when he goes missing at big moments, and his defense and rebounding for his size is ordinary at best. Probably says more about the playing group. However i dont get to see what goes on day to day around the club so good luck to him.

DJ is a favourite of mine but I’m not sure he has the personality to be the captain. Never smiles, doesn’t enjoy media but boy can he play. He will drag his team up to his level on court

Unfair criticism of him going missing in big games, has improved in that area dramatically in the past two years

Both sides shooting bricks. Nerves for us, not in the groove for the Jazz 1 of 7 3 point attempts in 3 and a bit minutes.
