I thought when I saw our body language in the warm ups that we just expected to turn up and win and we played like that for the first three quarters. In the fourth they just executed better and were confidently knocking down their shots.

Complacency?

Absolutely and I bet Joey kept tearing strips off them in the locker room afterwards. Probably better to end the streak and get a loss out of the way now before the double against Perth next weekend.

Disappointing result.

Bit of a dog act from Kernich-Drew with 1 second left on the clock.

Hopefully that fires the boys up for Sunday.

All of the reports from last night's melee in Perth.

A number of reports have been made following last night's game between the Perth Wildcats and Adelaide 36ers at Perth Arena.

Adelaide's Brendan Teys and Perth's Dexter Kernich-Drew were both reported for unduly rough play arising from an incident in the fourth quarter.

Adelaide's Shannon Shorter and Perth's Lucas Walker were reported for leaving their benches during the same incident in the fourth quarter.

Majok Deng, Nelson Larkins, Anthony Drmic, Mitch Creek and Shannon Shorter (Adelaide) and Dexter Kernich-Drew, Clint Steindl and Jarrod Kenny (Perth) were all reported for engaging in a melee.

The reports will be now reviewed by the NBL Game Review Panel and any charges will be announced by 6pm Sunday. All players will be available for tomorrow's game at Titanium Security Arena.

This wanker “Homicide” Williams commentating, there’s 4:57 left, Perth trail by 21 & he’s telling us they are still right in this.
They’ve struggled to score 67 in over three & a half qtrs and now there going to score 25+ in this time to win?

Game Review Panel Charges - Perth vs Adelaide

The NBL Game Review Panel has issued the following charges as a result of the review of the incident in the fourth quarter of the game between Perth Wildcats and Adelaide 36ers at Perth Arena on Friday night.

Brendan Teys (Adelaide) – Unduly Rough Play graded as Intentional, Body Contact and High Impact. Penalty – 2 games with no possibility of early plea.

In the event any player wishes to contest these charges they may do so at a Single Member Tribunal Hearing which will be scheduled for 5.00pm AEDT on Monday 5th February 2018 and chaired by Andrew Coleman SC. Early pleas can be tendered anytime prior to the Single Member Tribunal commencing.

The Game Review Panel would like to clarify the process for the deliberation of on court indiscretions during the NBL Regular Season. Players are afforded rights under the NBL Tribunal Guidelines that allow certain timeframes to be met prior to a matter reaching its full conclusion.

Due to the timings of the games of Round 17, it was not possible for the process to reach its conclusion until, at earliest, during the Sunday game between Adelaide and Perth.

It is important to note that the Tribunal Guidelines allow for a different process during the Finals Series which will ensure all issues are resolved prior to any subsequent games that a player may be involved in.

A bit of a surprise announcement with Brisbane Bullets import Perrin Buford asking the club to release him now with just two rounds to go in their season so he can pursue opportunities in Europe. I suspect this decision won't endear him to a lot of possible future employers.

Also Basketball Australia have announced the Boomers team for the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifying games in Melbourne against the Philippines on February 22nd and Chinese Taipei on February 25th. The games will take place in between the NBL regular season finishing and the playoffs beginning.
