For an NBL team 100k is huge.
I get what you are saying though.

But by rolling over it sets a dangerous precedent not just for us but for every NBL club that they can just take players and not have to comply with the regulations

I'm not sure if it's a case of rolling over. As I understand it as it was in fact Creek's German team that he exercised his NBA out clause with it would mean if Creek makes the Nets roster his German team would be entitled to the compensation not the 36ers. The 36ers are trying to stop Creek's signing with the Nets going through because they believe they should be entitled to the compensation.

This is all compounded by the rumour that the club bungled Terrance Ferguson's release to OKC last year that supposedly cost the club around $400K in compensation.

The 36ers have now agreed to terms with the Nets on Mitch Creek clearing the way for his signing.

The Adelaide 36ers are pleased to advise that terms for Mitch Creek’s release to the Brooklyn Nets have now been agreed.

The club has loved being a part of Mitch’s journey over the last eight years and is thrilled to have played a role in the opportunity Mitch has worked so hard for and thoroughly deserves.

On behalf of the entire Adelaide 36ers Family, we wish Mitch every success in the NBA and look forward to watching his progress.

Some Andrew Bogut highlights from his first game with the Kings:

The Cairns Taipans have announced the signing of their third import in Devon Hall a 6'6" SG who was just drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder in June and played his college ball at the University of Virginia under coach Tony Bennett who some might remember from his Charlotte Hornets & Sydney Kings playing days.

Yep 2 live games each weekend on 9GO! on a 3 year deal. Foxtel I don't think is completely final but expected to again be every game live.

Good exposure for the NBL but I'm a bit bummed about 9Now getting the digital rights for all games even the Fox ones they'll stream on delay.

Basically means the end of NBL TV I loved streaming all the games live on there for $5 a month. Now you have to sign up to Foxtel or just take the two live games on 9GO and the rest delayed on 9Now.

Here's the official announcement:

Also today the Sydney Kings played a pre-season game against the University of Hawaii with the Kings winning 82-65. For the Kings Kyle Adnam scored 19, Brian Bowen had 18 and Deng Deng had 11 points & 13 boards.

It's now official the Brooklyn Nets have signed former 36ers captain Mitch Creek :)

https://www.nba.com/nets/news/2018/08/2 ... mclaughlin

If Creek makes the Nets team that would then make it a record 10 Aussies in the NBA after it fell back down to nine last week after the Charlotte Hornets waived Sudanese-Australian Mangok Mathiang.

Also in some very surprising news Carrick Felix who was signed by Melbourne United last season as a temporary injury replacement for Casey Prather today announced his retirement from basketball just a few days after his 28th birthday to become a motivational speaker.

The Illawarra Hawks have too completed their roster by also elevating a development player to the full roster with the signing of guard Marshall Nelson who played for the Canberra Gunners in the SEABL this off-season.
