The Lightning just forced game 3 in the grand final with a 0.1 second buzzer beater. Was amazing

The WNBL Facebook is full of comments the final shot was still in the hands at zero on the clock. What really needs answering is why was someone alone in the paint under the rim at that point in the game?

Round 18 games & times:

Thu 5pm Illawarra at NZ Breakers
Thu 7pm Cairns at Melbourne

Fri 9pm Adelaide at Perth

Sat 2pm Cairns at Sydney (9Go)
Sat 7pm NZ Breakers at Brisbane

Sun 2pm Perth at Melbourne (9Go)

In regards to the playoffs if Adelaide beats Perth then Adelaide are in
If Perth beats Adelaide and NZ beats Brisbane then Adelaide are also in
However if Perth beats Adelaide and Brisbane beats NZ then Brisbane are in

I was there and what an amazing finish. The shot definitely left her hand before the buzzer, but was a blantant double dribble not sure how the refs didnt see it!

Was more of a carry- have never seen one called (outside of social basketball where the refs just dont like you)

Someone who was there reckons the ball was knocked by a Canberra player which is why it wasn’t considered a double dribble. I’ve only seen the footage on my phone but that does look possible

An interesting announcement today the NBL have announced the Victorian Elite League which was effectively the SEABL re-branded will now be known as the NBL1 league starting on the 29th March featuring men's & women's teams from Victoria, the ACT and Tasmania.

Late last year Basketball Australia wound up the SEABL league and it was then relaunched as the Victorian Elite League with the Mt. Gambier Pioneers refused entry into the new league this year which will see Mt. Gambier play in the Adelaide based Premier League this year hopeful of re-entry into this new league for next year.
