Some big NBL news out of Melbourne today firstly with the new South East Melbourne franchise coming into the league next season appointing United assistant Simon Mitchell as it's head coach.

With Mitchell's departure Melbourne United have signed former NZ Breakers coach and current Tall Blacks coach Paul Henare as his replacement effective immediately.

Round 2 games & times:

Fri 7pm Sydney at Adelaide

Sat 2pm Brisbane at Perth (9Go)

Sun 11:30am Sydney at NZ Breakers
Sun 2pm Adelaide at Melbourne (9Go)
Sun 4:30pm Illawarra at Cairns

He didn't seem to be too much from what I saw but I might've missed something?

Im not sure about that Heater. The NBA refs normally give out technicals if they cop a gob full

Hence the question mark. I was there last night and was surprised at the amount of back chat to thr refs from him. Coming from the NBA I thought he would be well versed in how to handle them when getting a raw deal.

Personally I didn't really notice any excessive whinging from Bogut last night but it's often been said NBL refs struggle to officiate big men in the low post in that they're always too quick to blow the whistle. Supposedly there was one weak foul called on Bogut blocking Sobey out after a free throw attempt (I never saw that play) which gave him a quick third foul and put him in foul trouble for the rest of the game.
