The Adelaide 36ers have made a significant change less than a week out from their preseason game against the Utah Jazz.

Jerome Randle has agreed to a deal that will see him return to the 36ers, multiple sources told foxsports.com.au, with the team set to release Deshon Taylor to make room for the one-time NBL MVP.

The 36ers were encouraged by the turnout at their new home arena, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre — a 6,366-strong crowd at the preseason game against Melbourne United — and felt as though they needed to capitalise on that popularity with a big name, sources said.

Melbourne United have announced that David Barlow will miss tomorrow night's game against SEM and their two NBA games against the LA Clippers & Sacramento due to a thumb fracture he received in the pre-season game against the 36ers and will return in Round 3.

In the meantime United have signed former Cairns Taipans swingman Dexter Kernich-Drew as a temporary injury replacement.

The injury problems get worse for Melbourne now with Casey Prather to undergo minor knee surgery and will miss 2-3 weeks. The team have brought in Dillon Stith as a temporary replacement import who has been training with the team and played for McKinnon in the Big V during the off-season where he led his team to the championship and won the league MVP award.

Thank you so much to the incompetent 36ers management that f#cked up the Mitch Creek situation.

Damn Creek looked good moving real well knocking down three's, such a shame.

28 points & 11 boards for him in a first up win virtually without Wesley too.

Any season the 36ers have done well it's been in spite of the pathetic management. Hearing the story about Joe Ingles' first meeting with the team just beggars belief.

I've heard a couple of rumours about when we tried to sign Ingles that despite being from Adelaide we misspelt his name on the contract offer and that Smyth was only willing to give him a development player spot, South Dragons swooped him offered him a full roster spot and the rest is history.
