The South-East Melbourne Phoenix have signed import Devondrick Walker as a replacement for Keith Benson. The 6'5" swingman has been playing in France this season and previously signed with the Perth Wildcats for the 2017-18 season but an injury saw him released before the season started.

Basketball Australia has named the preliminary squad for the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers in February. No players from the Kings & Wildcats have been named in the squad given their current NBL playoff positions and the talk is that no players from NBL playoff teams will be included in the team.

The Boomers play New Zealand in Brisbane on February 20 and then play Hong Kong away on February 23. Due to his NBA commitments Brett Brown won't be coaching the team and instead Kings coach Will Weaver will coach joined by assistants CJ Bruton & Adam Caporn.

DJ and Ogilvy have never been favourites of the selectors.

I think a few vets have been picked more for the nod and that it will likely be a pretty young team with a Creek or Goulding type included for leadership.

Also the 36ers have announced that import Ramone Moore will be out injured for the rest of the regular season. Moore has already missed the past two games due to a shoulder injury and has been ruled out of the Sixers next five games.
