Basketball Australia has named the preliminary squad for the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers in February. No players from the Kings & Wildcats have been named in the squad given their current NBL playoff positions and the talk is that no players from NBL playoff teams will be included in the team.
The Boomers play New Zealand in Brisbane on February 20 and then play Hong Kong away on February 23. Due to his NBA commitments Brett Brown won't be coaching the team and instead Kings coach Will Weaver will coach joined by assistants CJ Bruton & Adam Caporn.
