I saw this confirmed today. It's a bit of a funny one as with all his history of injury problems at the Bullets and Hawks and being ex-NBA if he were demanding big money it should be a definite no but this late in the off-season with pre-season games starting this weekend his options were extremely limited and he's been training with the 36ers for awhile now so presumably his body seems to be holding up for an expected bench role and he's likely coming cheap.

Unlike for the Bullets and Hawks this appears to be a low-risk gamble for us that could turn out well and if it doesn't not much lost.

Also today Melbourne United have announced they've signed coach Dean Vickerman to a 2 year contract extension putting him under contract until 2024.

The NBL have announced changes to the first six rounds of the season schedule with the season still set to begin December 3 with a double-header seeing Tasmania host Brisbane and the 36ers playing the Wildcats in Perth.

Also the NZ Breakers have signed Princepal Singh as a development player to a 3 year deal. The 20 year old Indian is a 6'9" F/C who has been playing in the G-League.

In other NBL related news the NBL1 have announced a new team from Darwin will be entering the NBL1 North competition in 2022 which will make the NBL1 the first Australian sports league to have clubs based in and playing out of every state and territory in Australia.

The NBL Blitz started tonight in the first game Melbourne United beat the NZ Breakers 90-84. Top scorer for United was Jo Lual-Acuil with 37 points and for the Breakers Finn Delany scored 20 points and Jeremiah Martin had 19. In the other game SE Melbourne Phoenix defeated the Sydney Kings 81-75. For the Phoenix Mitch Creek scored 17 and Kyle Adnam 16 and for the Kings Jarell Martin scored 15 points.

In NBL Blitz results today the 36ers defeated Cairns 91-87 in OT. Top scorer for the Sixers was Daniel Johnson with 33 points and for the Taipans Majok Deng and Stephen Zimmerman each scored 18 points and in the earlier game Brisbane beat Tasmania 89-79. For the Bullets Nathan Sobey scored 17 and Robert Franks had 16 points and for the JackJumpers Josh Adams scored 18 points and MiKyle McIntosh added 16 points.

In the Blitz games tonight Illawarra beat SE Melbourne 116-112 in OT. For the Hawks Justinian Jessup scored 27 points and Isaac White added 19 and for the Phoenix Reuben Te Rangi scored 18 and Zhou Qi had 17 points. In the other game Sydney defeated Melbourne 80-75. Top scorer for the Kings was Angus Glover with 18 and for United Jo Lual-Acuil scored 13 points.

In tonight's Blitz results the 36ers beat Perth 63-56. For the Sixers Dusty Hannahs and Mojave King both scored 11 points and for the Wildcats Vic Law and Jesse Wagstaff also both scored 11. In the second game Tasmania beat Cairns 81-66, top scorer for the JackJumpers was Josh Adams with 15 and for the Taipans Stephen Zimmerman scored 16 points.

In tonight's Blitz game Brisbane beat Perth 100-90. For the Bullets Tom Digbeu, Tyrell Harrison and Lamar Patterson each scored 16 points and for the Wildcats Bryce Cotton scored 22 and Vic Law added 16 points.

Also the SE Melbourne Phoenix have announced they've completed their roster with the signing of second import Devin Thomas to a one-year deal. He's a 6'9" PF who played in Estonia last season.

For the Hawks Antonius Cleveland scored 21 points and Duop Reath added 18 and for United Jo Lual-Acuil scored 20 points and Chris Goulding had 19 points.

Also the Illawarra Hawks have announced they've signed former 36ers guard Alex Mudronja to a 3 year deal. He's been signed as a nominal injury replacement player as Tim Coenraad has been elevated to the roster for the full season to replace the injured Daniel Grida. Mudronja will move onto the full roster the following season and the third year is a team option.

In other news former Sydney Kings Next Star Didi Louzada who now plays for the New Orleans Pelicans has been suspended by the NBA for 25 games for testing positive to performance enhancing drugs.

A couple of games played at the Blitz tonight Brisbane defeated Cairns 94-86. Top scorer for the Bullets was Nathan Sobey with 27 points and for the Taipans Tahjere McCall scored 17 points. In the second game Perth beat Tasmania 98-68. Leading scorers for the Wildcats were Bryce Cotton with 18 and Luke Travers with 16 and for the JackJumpers Josh Adams had 17 points and Sam McDaniel added 16 points.

Tomorrow night's game between Illawarra and the NZ Breakers has been cancelled due to four members of the Breakers travelling party testing positive for Covid.

Two games played today on the final day of the NBL Blitz, the 36ers beat Brisbane 72-67. Top scorer for the Sixers was Daniel Johnson with 16 points and for the Bullets Tanner Krebs scored 15 and in the second game SE Melbourne beat Melbourne 89-87. Top scorer for the Phoenix was Ryan Broekhoff with 21 points and for United Chris Goulding scored 26 points.

Last night's Illawarra vs Sydney game was cancelled due to a Hawks player testing positive for Covid that has now been confirmed today to have been a false positive.

The Adelaide 36ers have been declared the winners of the Loggins/Bruton Cup.
