A lot of NBL x NBA news today:

Big news for the NBL today with former Melbourne United centre Jock Landale going to the NBA signing with the San Antonio Spurs to a 2 year deal.

Also today former SE Melbourne Phoenix guard Keifer Sykes signed with the Indiana Pacers, earlier in the day playing in The Basketball Tournament he hit the game winning shot in the final to win his team the $1 million prize money.

As well former Melbourne Tigers and San Antonio Spurs guard Patty Mills has reportedly signed with the Brooklyn Nets to a 2 year deal.

Also former Sydney King and NBL Next Star Didi Louzada has re-signed with the New Orleans Pelicans to a 4 year deal.

The 36ers have announced the signing of their second import Todd Withers to a one year deal. The 6'8" forward played in Italy last season.

Also not quite NBL related news but Boomers Olympian Aron Baynes was today waived by the Toronto Raptors.

The Cairns Taipans have announced the signing of import Tahjere McCall to a one year deal. The 6'4" SG had a brief stint with the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA and played in the G-League and France last season.

Also the Brisbane Bullets have signed promising young Kiwi Taane Samuel as a development player who played on the championship winning Wellington Saints in the NZ league this offseason.

The Tasmania JackJumpers have announced the signing of their third import MiKyle McIntosh to a one year deal. The 6'7" forward has played for the Canadian national team and played in France last season.

The Cairns Taipans have completed their roster with the signing of Sudanese-Australian Bul Kuol to a 2 year deal. The 6'8" forward played his college ball at California Baptist and then the University of Detroit Mercy and is currently playing for the Knox Raiders in the NBL1 South.

The Tasmania JackJumpers have completed their roster with the signing of local Matt Kenyon to a one year deal. The 6'5" SG has previously played with the Bullets, played in the G-League last season and is currently playing for the Ballarat Miners in the NBL1 South.

The JackJumpers also announced the signings of development players Jock Perry and Sean Macdonald. Perry is a 7'1" centre who played his college ball at Saint Mary's and UC Riverside and is currently playing for the Ballarat Miners too and Macdonald is a 6'2" PG currently playing for the Dandenong Rangers in the NBL1 South.

The NBL have announced that Network 10 will be the FTA broadcaster of the NBL for the next three years. Two games live will be shown on 10 Peach on Sundays in the 1pm-5pm timeslot and both games will also be shown live in HD on 10 Play.

The NBL's three year broadcast deal with ESPN, Foxtel, Kayo, News Corp and Network 10 is said to be for $45 million.

Also the Perth Wildcats have re-signed veteran guard Kevin White to a one year deal.

The NBL have announced that the 2021-22 season will start on Thursday November 18.

Also the NZ Breakers have announced that star guard Corey Webster has left the club and signed with a team in Egypt for this season.

Webster played 236 games for the Breakers across 11 seasons and won three NBL championships with the team in 2011, 2013 and 2015.

Some big signings over the weekend the Sydney Kings announced Sudanese-Australian Makur Maker as their Next Star signing for this season. The 20 year old is a 6'11" centre who played in college last season at Howard University.

The Kings have also announced the signing of their third import Jaylen Adams. The 6'0" PG has previously played in the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trailblazers and played for the Milwaukee Bucks last season under new Kings coach Chase Buford.

The NZ Breakers have also announced the signing of their first import in Peyton Siva. The 6'0" PG has previously played wit the Detroit Pistons in the NBA and played last season for a German team in the EuroLeague.

The Perth Wildcats have announced they've signed their new head coach Scott Morrison to a 3 year deal. The Canadian national had been an assistant coach at the Boston Celtics for the past four seasons.

Also Melbourne United have completed their roster with the signing of import Caleb Agada to a one year deal. The 6'5" guard was born in Canada and just played for Nigeria at the Tokyo Olympics and played last season in Israel.

Unbelievable. The lack of professionalism under Grant Kelley is staggering. The treatment of Mitch Creek then Joey Wright and now Connor Henry when is this going to stop?

He was only one year into a 3 year contract, if you're going to sack a coach you do it at the end of the season not after most of the roster has been signed for the next season, the coach has returned to the country after his off-season break and supposedly he had done his 2 weeks quarantine and was back in Adelaide now.

Yes, the off court ineptitude has been an issue for a long time now. Going back to the botched potential recruitment of Joe Ingles and more.

It's so important to get these things right, get good people at the top, nail the import selections.

Mediocre season looking likely, just for a change :(

Quite a coup the Perth Wildcats have signed former Brisbane Bullets import Vic Law to a one-year deal. The 6'7" forward was released by the Bullets during last season due to a season ending injury and just played for the LA Lakers team in the NBA Summer League.

Also the Sydney Kings have completed their roster with the signing of Matur Maker to a one-year deal. The 6'11" PF is the cousin of Kings Next Star signing Makur and younger brother of Thon and played in the G-League last season.
