Conference finals:

Phoenix (2) v LA Clippers (4)- The Suns took game 1 earlier today with C. Paul sidelined. Should be well rested after sweeping the Nuggets, while the Clippers will obviously miss Leonard.
Milwaukee (3) v Atlanta (5) – The Bucks won game 7 at Brooklyn yesterday in an OT classic, while Atlanta also won game 7 on the road at Philly. Remarkable coaching effort from Nate McMillan after taking over part way through the season.

No way will he go to Tokyo.

Plenty of others on his team that need to look in the mirror also but they way over valued him last contract signing

Never thought the day would come where someone would casually make an extremely disparaging remark about Phil Jackson and I would find it questionable but Scottie Pippen proved me wrong.

Quite cringey

On the court Phoenix won through to the NBA finals for the first time since 1993 (against Pippen's Bulls) this morning.

Prior to this season they'd last made the playoffs more than a decade ago, and two years ago won a meagre 19 games.

Pippen has a new book coming out and a range of bourbon so think this is nothing more than a marketing ploy.

Patty Mills hit the buzzer beating game winner to give the Boomers the win in their opening exhibition game in Las Vegas against 2019 World Cup silver medalists Argentina.

Australia 87 (Mills 17, Ingles 16, Thybulle 15, Baynes 14) def Argentina 84 (Scola 25, Campazzo 12, Vildoza 11)

Next up for the Boomers is the USA on Tuesday who are coming off a shock opening loss to Nigeria.

Australia 91 (Mills 22, Ingles 17, Thybulle 12, Goulding 11) def USA 83 (Lillard 22, Durant 17, Beal 12)

A very good win but unfortunately Aron Baynes injured his knee early in the game and Xavier Cooks was called upon to replace him for the rest of the game. Hopefully not too serious we really need Baynes without Bogut there now.

Next up the Boomers play Nigeria tomorrow.

The Boomers exhibition game against the USA tomorrow has been cancelled after Bradley Beal was ruled out of the Olympics due to Covid protocols. The Boomers will now head straight to Tokyo.

As a neutral, didn't mind seeing the Bucks win. Giannis is one of the most likable superstars in recent memory.
