NRL Season 2012

The NRL has finally scrapped the Mc Intyre system and will use the same finals format as the AFL.
Long overdue IMO

Tigers seem to be the choice of the league this season. Sheens says they will play football.

It's about time, Because we all know that the system the NRL used was crap when the first used it years ago. We told them it was flawed when the top 4 teams lose in the first week that teams that finished 3rd and 4th were out, but they said that the system was fine. It took them so long to figure it out.

Money Bill to the Chooks
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/ ... 6283361471

THE worst-kept secret in the NRL right now is that Sonny Bill Williams has sealed the deal with the Roosters.

As far as players and officials at the glamour club are concerned, it isn't a matter of "if" but "when".

Indeed, Matty Johns echoed a growing belief that Williams has been signed, sealed and all but delivered when he declared on Triple M yesterday morning: "From what I hear 100 per cent he'll be at the Roosters; there is only the details about his boxing career to sort out."

Eels no match for the Warriors.
Was close for 70 minutes but a couple of late tries blew out the margin.
Sandow has been a great addition and scored a couple but after Hayne went down early with another knee injury it was always going to be hard especially with Hindmarsh withdrawing overnight

Because the Storm are so far away from NSW they can identify young quality players and keep them where as in NSW & QLD the talent pool is spread more thin.
The storm also have good feeder programs - Junior Rep sides, Toyota cup side, local VIC comp, a rugby league based school which most their kids go to and then compete in the Arrive Alive Cup which is the premier schoolboy competition in Australia, and a feeder team at East Brisbane in the QLD cup.
