Great start by the Eels to thump the Warriors but we did the same in Round 1 last year and look how that ended

Ffs! Picked the Warriors thinking the Eels would continue their poor form from last season, god damn it.

good to see that they have learned from there old mistakes on recruiting
no huge names and inflated wages but players let go who were not in there clubs top 15 but only needed a chance to prove it
some great young islanders and the paulie brothers and paulo are great
still think we are only mid table at best but nearly won as many this year as the whole of last year
anderson will be a great coach if not already

Go eels!

It's been a long time since we've had a positive win loss ratio!

The NRL has offered Alex McKinnin a job for life. What a great gesture and deserved to Alex as finance, support and stability can be a huge issue for people as unlucky as Alex was. Well done NRL, I loved reading about that. So often we put down these organisations but that is awesome and might even reignite my following of the NRL. Super stuff! :D
The Knights have also extended Alex's contract offering him the same money they were when previously negotiating when his accident. Superb stuff. Stuff like that makes me so happy! Newcastle are now my second side.

Beat my edit Heater, yes great news all round!
Not many things in life inspire me but Alex, his family, partner, club and the NRL have when I read this.

NRL Season 2014

Postby Jim05 » Wed May 28, 2014 11:03 pm

Good guys win Game 1, time to finally finish them off
Shane Hayne is a deadset disgrace, did his best to get QLD over the line, that last 10 minutes was some of the worst officiating you will see, NSW were stitched up majorly

Completely agree Jimbo. Horrendous reffing.

Great to see the Blues get up away. Hopefully they can do this in straight sets.

My "banana bender" work colleague is in for an ear bashing if he decides to turn up for work today.

How great was that second half?
Well down to the Blues :YMSICK: , seemed to play with more purpose in the first half, and their defense in the second half was awesome. Queensland seemed to be a little complacent in the first half after scoring that first try reasonably easily.
Have to agree the Maroons got a couple of lucky ones in the last few minutes, especially that knock-on call when the defender didn't play at the kick.

How good was Morris' tackle to hold up Boyd late in the game after dislocating his shoulder earlier on?

Won NSW the game.

Hayne was woeful, but there were a number of decisions over the course of the game that were crap against QLD as well, don't think he tried to get QLD over the line at all.

Gallen is the biggest thug in the NRL.

Thought Inglis had a very quiet night, also I can't believe that Adam Reynolds from Souths cant get a game for NSW?! He is arguably the best half in the comp!
