Yeo was huge, Cleary did what he wanted.
Except tackle.
Thought Cleary was pretty poor by his lofty standards. He didn’t look right but they were carrying a heap of injuries which made the win even better

His kicking game was on point. Didn’t help that South’s didn’t apply much pressure, and the chasers were awesome, but still he manufactured repeat sets and strong field position.

Speaking of tackles, I had Cam Murray for Churchill Medal - 52 tackles huge effort for him

His kicking game was very good, just thought he had a few moments he would like to take back but I guess that’s because I’m so used to seeing him barely ever make a error

The Dolphins join in the NRL.

The Redcliffe-based Dolphins have been announced as the NRL's newest franchise, with the club to enter the league in 2023.

The Dolphins, a powerhouse club in Queensland rugby league, beat rival bids — put forward by the Firehawks and the Jets — to become the league's 17th franchise.

With the announcement of the decision, rugby league fans will again have a second national team based in Brisbane, alongside the Broncos, making a total of four in the NRL from Queensland.

One of the best games i've watched ever! Talakai played a stinker, but he was also played out of position and the effort from QLD really shut down any forward movement for him.

NSW weren't terrible, QLD were amazing... the constant pressure QLD applied was phenomenal. Solid game plan, turned the Blues forwards around early a lot.

Tedesco was outstanding for the Blues, Ponga and Deardon amazing for the Maroons.

Maroons lost Munster during the week to covid, lost two more to head knocks in the opening couple of minutes.. reduced to 15 players, won the fight, won the match, won the series. What a game.

NSW were pathetic in the second half. Surely that’s the end for Fittler

Brilliant game
That was tough football
Makes a mockery of AFL when they say "getting into the trenches" and the players complain about having to back up for a game 6 days later

How big is Junior Paulo!
I met as Manly player like him 25 years ago. He made me look like a half back

As someone with only a relatively minor interest in the NRL, and no state allegiance (although I find myself cheering for Qld over NSW), last night was the most excitement I've had watching sport this year I reckon.

Found myself absolutely glued to the second half

Fantastic game.

Seven Manly players have decided to make themselves unavailable this week, rather than wear a "Pride" jersey. Apparently based on religious grounds, but they are OK having Pointsbet as a major sponsor. They are being selective on which sins they will or will not support. Well done to Des Hassler on his response.

Absolute debacle though. A side split in two, over an issue not connected with what they signed up for. Surely Manly hierarchy knew that their pacific islander players, as a general rule, hold more strongly/literally to their Christian/spiritual beliefs than your average Anglo Saxon 2022 version, who mostly now go along with the latest. Like throwing a grenade into their own camp!

You'd have thought some discussion or mention might've been made to the player base before hand to grasp an idea on the reception, given their religious background.

They don't seem to have an issue with a gambling company on their jerseys and alcohol sponsorship of their stadium though.

Gambling can be problematic but no one (or hardly anyone) would see it as being 'sinful' as such. Alcohol would be viewed the same
