Absolute debacle though. A side split in two, over an issue not connected with what they signed up for. Surely Manly hierarchy knew that their pacific islander players, as a general rule, hold more strongly/literally to their Christian/spiritual beliefs than your average Anglo Saxon 2022 version, who mostly now go along with the latest. Like throwing a grenade into their own camp!

They don't seem to have an issue with a gambling company on their jerseys and alcohol sponsorship of their stadium though.

Israel Folau's list covers just about everyone:

Drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators (presumably this makes 'adulterers' redundant), thieves, athiests and idolaters (presumably refers to Catholics).

Amazing how much bad behaviour is apparently tolerated by NRL players. Plus, advertising for gambling interests, alcohol etc.

And yet some of them apparently draw the line at the gays.

Seriously though, who looks to a sporting code for their moral guidance? They have a responsibility to behave ethically and legally under the law of course they do. Given the goings on in NRL circles you would think that would be enough for them to handle. But if i'm looking to the NRL (or the AFL for that matter) for my moral instruction then that is ridiculous for any serious adult.

Trying their best to keep the Bunnies in it. Penrith have had 4 tries disallowed and still lead 24-12
