The "3" changeover

Postby Footy Chick » Fri Aug 17, 2012 3:47 pm

Is there anyone on here that has 3 wireless broadband?

I've had it for about a year and a half and have used it with no problem.

However, they changed over to vodafone on or about August 8 and I've had pretty much no coverage since. Has anyone else had the same problem?

I rang 3 last night to say and we troubleshooted and even they were surprised when it took 4 minutes for the google homepage to come up after logging in.

So I said I wanted out of the contract at no charge.

Someone from 3 called me today and offered to send me an updated voda sim which has 12gb instead of the 6gb I had with 3 and they would waive my access fee for the next 6 months - but if I was still having coverage problems I could cancel with no charge.

If you want to buy a V8 Supercar you wouldn't buy a "Great Wall" vehicle.

If you want the best internet feed/speed, go Telstra everytime.

Don't listen to anything else.

Or stick with vodafone or anyone else.

You may pay more, but it is well worth it. :D

Sure I hate my $79.95 per month bill when i comes in each month but I have fluent downloading/gameplay everytime.

It is the world of user pays I am affraid. :D

This is wireless Dogger, not cable or ADSL.

Just try out the vodafone one and see how it goes. It works off the mobile phone towers, so checking companies mobile coverage maps will help. Congestion can be an issue.

Current best wireless internet is Telstra 4G, but of course that only applies if you are in a 4G area. Of course ADSL2+ or Cable are better options most of the time.

All good, you are learning.

Vodafone are working on their network, but it's going to take years to catch up.

Just get out if you can FC.

We had the same- once the vodafone takeover came along it turned to sh!t. Has part to do with Voda being unable to access Telstra towers any more.

Now with Optus ADSL packaged with the home phone. So far so good.

Ive actually found Vodafone better than 3, I used to get no coverage at home but do now and I get better internet speeds anywhere I go in the metro area or cbd.
However, when I changed carriers I also switched from an Iphone to a Samsung Galaxy S2. It could just be that the Samsung Galaxy S2 is a much better phone.

I noticed the change and 3 switched me to Vodaphone with no extra charge. They claimed I was on a pay as you go. I cancelled and went to Telstra. I got a lovely bill for $650 to get out of the contract. All i can say is I will never go back to them.
