e-mail adresses

Postby Punk Rooster » Tue Feb 14, 2006 10:55 am

Is there a search engine/program, that enables you to look up someones name, & see if they have or what is, their e-mail address? I'm just curious, as I recieved an e-mail to my personal e-mail, from someone I loosely know, yet don't recall giving my address to.

Not that Im aware of but spanners do crawl through websites looking for any traces of email addresses and also sometimes fluke you with random addresses.

I could always set up a new email account for ya punky if this person annoys you, how does mailto:punk@rocketrooster.com or perhaps mailto:punk@safooty.net sound?

The e-mail I recieved, was from a customer- not spam, just the fact I don't recall giving them an e-mail address (I rarely hand out my e-mail address, it's not on my business cards), & I wondered whether you can look up peoples e-mail on the net (if you know their full name). I actually have 4 addresses- 3 Hotmail, 1 personal, & I expect garbage in my Hotmail accounts.

The rest was just off on a similar tangent as to how some people do end up in your inbox.

Nah, I have got spam filters attached to those domains, my email is plastered all over the net but get 2 or 3 spams a day at the very most.

Do you receive bulk emails with jokes etc ?
Sometimes some people send out emails to a whole lot of "Friends" who then have all the other people's email addresses. Someone might thing "Oh, that's so and so ... cool, I have their email"

Just another thought.

Yes, you understand Felicity. Wedgie, it would be like me meeting you in your work place environment, seeing Wedgie Q Wedginald at your desk/business card, & next thing you get an e-mail from me, to that address (mailto:wegieqwedginald@bigpond.com.au), with me saying g'day etc. It's not spam, it's not someone randomly typing in addresses, it's someone I'm doing/have done business with, & the only way they'd have my e-mail, is if I gave it to them. I'm just curious, is all- Imay have even given it to them, it's just that I don't recall doing so. If worse comes to worse, I may just ask them!

Not a gypsy, just a Trailer Park Boy.
And collecting Shopping Trolleys is an underrated profession.
