I travel a fair bit and I used to connect my netbook to one of those wireless dongles and Telstra NextG (expensive I know! :( but I need the coverage), anyway a few weeks ago I bought a WiFi capable phone (Nokia E51) it is possible to set the phone up as a wireless access point with a program called JoikuSpot http://www.joiku.com/ and am able to throw away the wireless dongle and save myself a few dollars. Of course you also need a wireless capable laptop. Just thought I would share this
