Hooray, I'm finally on a fast net connection!
Boo, after 1 day, I've used 75% of my download usage allowance!
Will have to stay away from youtube...

I'm always saddened when someone falls for a Bigpond broadband sentence, er, contract. Let us know how the next 24 months go Punky

400 meg, christ I go through that in 10 minutes.
Be careful with Bigpond too, as they rip you off by including uploads in your "usage", I can't believe they're allowed to get away with what they do.
(with other companies its only downloads and not uploads that is counted)
My old man was on Bigpond once and they were telling him he was exceeding 400mb a month usage limit.
He went to Iprimus and it shows up as less than 100mb per month and he's never gone close to 400mb.

As a guide, I usually upload a much as I download (20 gig a month, somtimes up to 40 gig a month).
If I was with Telstra I'd have to fork out for double the plan. :?
($150pm with Telstra, as opposed to the $60pm I pay now)

We've got OptusNet 12gig/month thing and have had no problems with it at all.

We used to have dial up with Adam Internet and got royally shafted by them. Their customer service was exceptionally poor, they were very rude. I recommend anyone who is thinking about using them to forget about it.

Adam and Internode (Im with Internode) are generally regarded as the best ISPs but yes I have heard at times that their customer service can be ordinary (moreso Internode) mainly because of the demand on these ISPs. Luckily Im IT aware enough not to ever need customer service (have more issues with my website provider that runs SA Footys webspace mainly because they're one of the few that can handle the traffic demands of this site at a reasonble price and I had to leave my previous webspace provider as they couldn't handle the strain on their servers - however at least IX who host this site have a 24 hour/7 day a week live chat service which is bloody handy)
