Torrents

Postby Sploosh » Tue Mar 21, 2006 5:23 pm

As an Aussie living in Japan, TV torrents are a real boon to me; being able to watch TV in English. However, Aussie programmes tend to be very sparse. Occassionally there is something on Demonoid, but that's about it. Anyone have favourite torrent sites, particularly somewhere where at least a bit of Aussie content is available?

What TV Shows are you after Sploosh?

Yanky shows do dominate though there are others around.

BitMeTV.org has quite a few English TV shows, and UkNova.com is 100% Uk shows. Both are brilliant - BitMe for a wide selection of mainstream shows at blinding download speeds, UkNova for hard-to-find releases from years ago, as well as zero-day stuff from England.

Well, not having been in Aust for quite a few years now, I'm a bit out of touch with what is on. The only ones I seem to be able to regularly get are "Chaser" - very funny - and sometimes AFL games. Am always interested in ABC modern dramas (MDA etc), sports "Weekly highlights" shows, comedy with SBS's Saffron, even 'reality' such as My Restaurant Rules (if it is to have a new season) and Big Brother "Highlights of the week"...that kind of thing. Just wondering aloud if people knew of good sites that I wasn't aware of, really...

I just finished watching the last episode of Battlestar Galactica - WOW! - Absolutely the best thing (not) on television! Awesome show

I have most luck with torrentspy.com and isohunt.com (for TV shows like Lost, Battlestar...) and for music (mostly bootlegged concerts) Dimeadozen is peerless.

AGREED! And we have to wait until October to see how Series 3 pans out!
Series 2 has been absolutely awesome.

Have you seen the 30 second trailer for next season?
I have it if you want it.

I saw a tiny glimpse of it at the end. I'll chase it down if I want it - thanks for the offer. Geez, a whole footy season until it's on again. Boo!

Agreed, even the site I've been using for a long time torrentleech has brought in a few.
I've seen Big Brother, The Biggest Loser, Thank God You're Here, and a few others online.

Battlestar Galactica

Postby Psyber » Sun Apr 30, 2006 8:00 pm

I just finished watching the last episode of Battlestar Galactica - WOW! - Absolutely the best thing (not) on television! Awesome show

I watched the first 5 or 6 episodes of the TV series and gave up out of boredom - and I'll usually watch ANY science fiction - even that odd one about the space garbage service. Does that mean BG eventually improved and developed a plot?? I preferred the old movie with Lorne Green.

Babylon 5 was my all time favorite - much more character interaction and more sub-plot development.

i grew off torrents along time ago....usenet groups are the way to go...go to http://www.newzbin.com and join up there, then get an account at http://www.giganews.com - newzbin cost $2 for 60 days, giganews cost about $12 for 20gb of data

you search for what you want at http://www.newzbin.com and download it through your usenet reader using the giganews servers. this may sound hard, but once you seach at http://www.newzbin.com you will see that they have EVERYTHING.......ok not everything, but they are the largest source on the web, and there is no queueing or waiting, and the files will come down as fast as your internet connection can handle!

I had a look and there was only 18 PS2 games there, why pay for that when I can get 100s on a couple of torrent sites.
Not convinced but thanks for the heads up.

actually there is 332 at the moment, all with no queue or wait!

you just have to pay 2.50 or something to become a full member of the search site otherwise it limits you to one page of searching!

332 ps2 games, 832 xbox games, 595 PSP games, and 131 PS1 games, with no wait is better then 100's relying on torrents i think!
