Most players you can only do it 2-4 times before its locked to that region.

There used to be software around which allowed you to watch it on computer.

Or buy a cheap $99 dvd player which is region free.

By law any stand alone dvd player sold in Australia after (about) 2006 ,has to be region free. Some are region free out of the box, like Pioneer, some you need to perform a specific button routine on the remote or the machine itself to make it so.
For pc type players,look here.........

My old Panasonic DVD Player was region 4 and after trying various fixes from internet advice with no success, I asked a place on South Road that do service and repairs for electronics (near Thebarton Oval). They told me they could make it region free for about $30. I just can't remember the name. They said it was a straight forward job.

Before I got around to doing it the whole player packed it in and now I have a $80 Sony job that I assume is region free.

I think it's this place:
Telefix
260 South Rd, Hilton SA 5033

In between signatures .....
