All turned out well. After another phone call this morning they said I could transfer my daughters account for free and use the s2 even though shes not due for an upgrade for 9 months.
It took a bit of pushing as they wanted me to return it in a bag they were sending out. Daughter will be stoked.
Im stoked as phone bill will now be $50 less a month with 4 awesome phones!

Work just upgraded my s2 to Android 4. Apparently the same as the s3 (but our it has been known to be full of shit).

Goes well, definitely faster and better on battery life.

Since this thread is at least about phones I guess I can slot this question in here.
Are there any decent phones that are not huge?
I want something genuinely pocket size - not much bigger than my old Nokia slider type - roughly 10cm x 5cm x 2cm.

I want my phone to ring people up and have them ring me. For pictures I have a Nikon DSLR with a selection of lenses and an industrial strength flash gun. For internet and basic pics/movies on the run I have an iPad2. For other more serious internet stuff I have a laptop. My phone is a two-year old hTC - model or type irrelevant. It does the job.

Do you carry all that stuff on the bus with you? Or on a bike?

Nobody is comparing a smartphone camera to a DSLR or a laptop or ipad. But for the features packed into something the size of a couple of credit cards, the new generation of smartphones are bloody impressive.

So, with Samsung Australia coming out and saying there are no plans to release the S3 in Australia at this stage, I went and got a HTC One X.

Must say, I am bloody impressed. Spectacular screen. Super fast. Far more flexible than my old iPhone and FLLLLLAAAAAAAASSSSHHHHHHH!

How long it lasts will be interesting, but for now, I'm pretty chuffed with it.

Samsung have to say that, because no carrier has announced it yet.

It will be released here, I guarantee it.

I don't like the size increase of the SGS3. My S2 is big enough as it is.

I like the HTC One range, but they're slightly bigger than my S2 as well.

I'm getting this sinking feeling my next phone might be an iPhone5, or I may just stick with my SGS2.

With the ROM I'm running now I get 3 days from a charge.

The One X is pretty big, but not awkwardly so.
It's worth it for the spectacular screen. everything is so much better than the iphone.

Just the simple things like picking any song in your mp3 list and setting it as your ringtone vs the rigmarole of converting an mp3 into an apple happy ringtone file for the iphone. Syncing and transferring contacts. FLASH!!!

iPhone 5 will need to be pretty darn special IMO.

I like the One X, and One XL (4G)

I just don't want to go to a bigger handset size than the SGS2

As of June 10 I can upgrade and I'm out of contact as of Aug 10.

Hopefully the iPhone 5 is announced and I can make a choice.

Only drawback I'm finding is battery life. I have to use it a little less than I'd like to make it through the day.

Bit disappointing, but when you factor in the beautiful 4.7' HD screen, plus quad core processor, it's no wonder it chews the juice.

It's not enough for any buyers remorse!
