I haven't got many choices Westy! I know it wont hurt, but the way I see it, if the sales person in the shop gave it to me, then I have a legitimate reason to take it back if it doesn't work.

They'll just blame your phone as the cable isn't faulty.
Then you can say the phone is faulty and they'll just say the cable is.

That's fine too, I can get a new phone out of it!

I use a blackberry charger for my HTC and no problems, very handy that both my personal and work phones use the same charger (why there isnt a universal charger for all mobile phones Ill never know)

It's heading that way now as most smart phones (except iPhone) use micro USB chargers.

I know samsung, htc and blackberry do.

Not so sure about Nokia

Somehow I had an old Nokia charger (USB) in my bag, plugged my Samsung Galaxy S2 into and had no problems charging it. 8)

Ahh, I'm the master.

Using my new Nexus Friday and it started looping on the boot screen. The boot screen shows Google, then disappears, boots again then disappears, boots again, disappears. Can't turn it off, can't do anything.

I think my many years of using Samsung's are coming to an end.

Get your ancient nexus crap out of my Galaxy S2 thread!

PS Got the son and missus S2s of their own, son loves his. Gotta love the best phone going around being on the $29 plan!

Galaxy Nexus is newer than the S2

FYI sounds like you need to do a factory reset.

Galaxy Nexus doesn't even come close to impressing me with its current price tags, even when I looked at what both the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S2 had to offer I actually preferred the S2. And that was before I compared the prices (S2 is $29 pm, GN is $59pm!).

Yeh, didn't want to cos I had some work information on there that I still needed. Oh well, it's gone now. Factory reboot = successful.

Thats on vodafone, and vodafone sucks. They're losing customers left right and centre and that $29 deal actually loses the money.

Nexus is $579 outright, S2 is $519

Nexus is a great phone, so is the S2.

Ive found Vodaphone great. Whenever Ive had to ring I get English speaking people and for the first time ever (including when I was on Telstra) I have excellent coverage at my suburban home.
I just transferred two more accounts to them last week because of my satisfaction level with them and will move a fourth there later this year.

 spoke to soon about Vodafone.

Received an extra handset I didn't order in the mail today.
Thought I'd do the right thing and ring them up and see what's going on.
After going on for a while about something irrelevent to my query I asked what woud have happened if I hadn't advied them they'd sent me an extra phone.
They said I would have been charged for it.
I said "I'd like to see you try as I'd take you to court for charging me for something I didn't order".
They then hung up!

They do it often.

They bought so many S2's and couldnt sell them on the 49 and 59 plan they've dropped it to the 29 plan and "accidently" send them out.

People ring up and they offer another 29 plan or buy the phone outright

They are a joke of a company.

My missus Galaxy 2 has a problem whereby it fires up an MTP application every time it is unhooked from a charger.

I googled it and it's a common problem with Internet Exploder and Samsung Kies Air. Selecting USB debugging seems to have fixed it but not after many strange occurrences during the middle of the night, at work and other social outings.

Kies, great product! NOT.
