I bought my daughter a basic HP laptop from JB's for like, $300ish.
She can use the Internet, Skype with me, Word/Excel et al... to be honest it does everything a school kid would probably need.
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.

The HP would be suitable for your son, as long as you get the right applications added i.e. Microsoft Office

One of the laptops at work has a log file issue where it has kept 90Gb of log files. Anyone has any idea how to change that? We deleted a heap manually so the computer now works.
