Howdy my dh is usually very good with trouble-shooting with the computer but it seems that our desktop pc is having bios and boot issues ... is there any reputable business anyone can recommend who could take a look at it and that wont cost an absolute arm and leg thks for any replies :)

The first thought is a flat CMOS battery - cheap and easy to replace in most machines. I don't know any specific shop to recommend but if you mention you have considered that possibility it tends to suggest to them that you are not a complete novice who can be told you need a new motherboard etc.

If it loses CMOS settings then battery it is almost certinaly going to be. Cost $3 or so for a new one, and easy as pie to replace. Could be the mainboard but rare. What exactly is it doing?

I could look at it for you if you like.
Or alternatively, my mate owns a computer shop on Melbourne Street and I can give him a heads up.
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.
